I think that maybe she had a little hope before the diner scene(where she denies everything), but I don't she was ever completely confident about it.

What I don't get is if Lorelai left Chris 'cause of something feeling she thinks she might have with Luke then TALK TO HIM!

I guess Luke is a man of action and that is the point of what he does in the final with the party.

oh how we all wish the writers would let LL talk!

in 7.20, the morning after with Rory, i got the feeling that Lorelai realized she had 'let her feelings' out to herself.....but after all that LL have been through and the year of Luke keeping her at a distance, she felt she had to restrain herself before giving into hope.....she still loves him, but she just can't put herself out there again. again, i do detest the way LG delivers the scene, but i get why Lorelai says what she does. and whether or not Luke does it just b/c he's him or as a gesture, once Lorelai gets the ability to hope for a chance with Luke, she takes it...hence, her 'unexpected' kiss

I didn't mind it. And Lorelai seemed "resigned" to the fact that Luke doesn't love her. Not that she's totally okay with it. JMO

I guess I'm just irritated by Lorelai lack of conviction about well, anything, this season. She's wishy washy about getting married, she has to be (metaphorically) beaten over the head repeatedly before she can admit the marriage was a mistake and the sum total of that whole waste of time was 'it just wasn't right'. Really? Shocker. She apologizes to Luke, but it seems to only to have occurred to her after her talk with Logan. Her 'gesture' occurs when she's drunk. And even after that she's still not certain if she feels anything anyway but whether it's nostalgia. So she just decides to give up without even talking to Luke. Even after all this time it's denial, denial, endless, exhausting, repetitive denial and in the end she'll only admit anything after another grand gesture. What has Lorelai's whole journey been. We started with Lorelai keeping quiet and not telling Luke what she wants and we end with Lorelai keeping quiet and not telling Luke what she wants. Only when she's given a 110% assurance of reciprocated feelings does she buy a clue and admit anything - and I don't really mean admit anything to Luke, I mean anything to herself. I'd feel a lot more charitable to Lorelai if she just admitted to Rory, to Sookie, that yes, dammit, she loves Luke and she's really hurt about it, rather then scene 12313 of her denial and we're just supposed to magically divine that she's head over heels in love with Luke rather than just think, oh hey, maybe she's just not that into him.

Those stupid writers don't know what each of them wrote the episode before and DR sure has no overview of things. Everyone gives his/he imput and talks into his business. Morons all of them.

Lorelai is such an idiot. She shagged Chris when Luke's site of the bed wasn't even cold yet, married him and now Luke has to show her how he feels. Yeah she waited for a reaction from the song but hello she denied it in the diner a second before he announced himself behind her and it doesn't even cross her mind he might have heard her. How about sitting down and talk ? Wouldn't that be good for a change ? Wasn't that something Lorelai was supposed to learn this season ? Oh I forgot she learned to do it with Chris and that's all that matters. We get a kiss, a new understanding and a leap of faith that everything will be ok

Thanks I don't even want to watch the end anymore.
