I can't remember the name of it the name of it, I do remember it was set during the season 5 fight I think and the ton tricked them into spending the night in the Pattys studio.

Just my take on LL from the latest ep and the DC ... I think both are too afraid (after realising that they both messed up majorly) to actually believe they have another chance with the other. And I understand why ... It makes sense to me that Lorelai is more focused on thinking that "Of course Luke doesn't respond to the song she sang" ... since how could he basically give her another chance after what she did. Luke seemed to be afraid to think more of it also, even though the song was on his mind a lot, he said to Liz that it meant nothing, a truckload of alcohol and a sappy song ...

So rationally they are both saying to themself Naaahhh ... how can the other still want me after all that happened? But the thought has surely lingered in their minds. Sort of against all odds, but still you hope ... both hoping the same thing, but both thinking that can not be, can it? Could he or she really still want me back?

And I think we saw that perfectly in the last ep. I am not thinking the Director of this ep is THAT stupid. He/she knows it is pretty obvious that Luke was shown to be able to overhear what Lorelai said. Lorelai not for one sec thinking Luke was reacting to what he overheard and Luke not for one sec thinking Lorelai was just saying this because the GossipQueens were all over her and she might be scared to admit this openly ... It just shows to me that both are expecting the other does not want them back romantically. And they are both so much expecting this that they don't even consider how the other is just as afraid or reacting cold because of insecurities or hopes getting smashed to pieces. And that was the purpose of that Dinerscene to me ... both so afraid to actually believe they have another chance, that both even can disregard the Lorelai/Luke freakin I will always love you-scene. Sure, Lorelai was the one singing, but Luke definitely reacted positively with keeping the eye-contact (most of the time) and giving her a great smile.

Great post. What I found interesting watching the episode again, is Lorelai deeps saying that she's going to Luke's to see how she feels. She is assuming that Luke does not feel that way. How could he.

I hate how they have been writing this season, they don't even know anything about the show, the characters, or the town in general. They got everything wrong and didnt even know what the show was originally like. They shouldve at least watched all the episodes and been pro's on the show before they started writing.

Even though i hate how ASP screwed a lot up at the end and was losing the characters, she knew how they were and couldve got them back to the originalness of the show... or she wouldnt have had to if she wasnt so tired of writing the show and didnt screw them up in the first place!

ASP and DR strung this baby out because to have no drama means...no drama!

Max...Christopher...Rachel...Nicole...April...every plot twist was carefully conceived just to keep them apart. On top of that...it is specifically the writer's objective to keep characters as dysfunctional as possible.

Think of the possibilities if Lorelai thought logically and Luke wasn't so repressed. Kinda makes for boring TV, doesn't it?

Can I congratulate your club on the fine job it's doing today? Seriously, I lurk here everyday to read some spoiler and everyday I have to scroll through pages and pages of Lorelai is a selfish B*tch, Lorelai is the worst person on earth, Lorelai should be killed... As a big Lorelai fan (and a Luke fan too), it is very emotionnaly draining to read, especially since I find the arguments to justify those thoughs very black and white with absolutly no grey area. It's so refreshing to come here and to read all those posts that make me feel great about the show. I just love all those posts, that just reflect how this show and its characters are not perfect, but it's ok. Luke is no angel and Lorelai is no devil, there just very screwed up people trying to find their way somehow, being scared to death to choose the wrong path. They're adult, but they're scared and try to deal with it. I just love how you don't condem them for it, but just try to understand them both with no judgement or anger.
