I understand why both are hesitant, because neither made a move after the song, and both of them were waiting for the other.

And when Lorelai said that, even though she didn't know he heard, it killed his hope, and he acted cold, so her hope was killed too!

I don't think Lorelai is very good at letting people in either. She didn't want to talk to Luke about Rory during their rift; she didn't want to talk to anyone about Luke during the April crisis; she didn't want to talk to anyone about Chris. And now she's back to lying to everybody including herself about her feelings for Luke.

I totally agree. Someone should lock them both up in a room and not let them out until they actually talk. (Didn't Lorelai say that about her parents)

Exactly!

Voncey, I agree. That has always been the premise behind Luke and Lorelai's relationship. They are independent people who want to do everything on their own to the point that they have a hard time opening up about stuff. When they do, it's great and they always have these amazing moments, but then they never learn. Yup......They are idiots.

I think that they are meant to be. "It's not love if its not hard" and relationships take a lot of work. They love each other so much, and have never loved anyone else before. They just need to have a really long open conversation where they sort everything out and get it all on the table. They both know that they love each other and would do anything for one another but thats not their issue. They need to talk about everything so that they can be more open. Lorelai can be able to tell Luke when he is being "in his own head" and he can tell her whats going on. and Luke can tell her when she is being needy because after they talk about everything it will all be out on the table and they will have permission and confidence to tell each other what they need to work on. After one open discussion, there will be a paved way for many more open discussion.

This is where the writing of ep 21 is bad. In one instance Lorelai says she will know when it's right but with Luke she has been on and off him for years and as we know in the final scene back on again.

Yep they are both idiots!

I wish DSR had used that fan fic and locked them in the dance studio or even the diner store room or maybe Luke comes over to help Lorelai at the DFI and the end up locked in pantry.

Then they could pound it out until they are both satisfied

I guess we just say they lived happily ever after? cause its not like we get to see a wedding or anything? unless taylor is there to give them a marriage liscenes and reverend skinner marries them at the party...

i love the way you think...

but i dont recall the dance studio or DFI pantry fanfics. I know of the diner store room ones, and the actual rooms and horse stable ones, but not the dance studio and pantry ones... although the pantry is starting to sound a little more familiar..?

Could you send me them if you have them?

Please don't give food to bb's. They WILL stay together. If those two aren't meant to be then i don't know who is.
