On Tuesday, May 8, KTLA interrupted episodes of Gilmore Girls and
Veronica Mars in order to bring Los Angeles viewers live breaking news
coverage of the wildfire burning in Griffith Park.

The interrupted episodes will be rebroadcast in their entirety on
Saturday, May 12. The schedule is as follows:

8:00 p.m.: Gilmore Girls
9:00 p.m. Veronica Mars

The CW: STARS HOLLOW THROWS RORY A GRADUATION PARTY / CNN JOURNALIST CHRISTIANE AMANPOUR MAKES A GUEST APPEARANCE — Just as Rory (Alexis Bledel) lands her dream job as a political reporter, Luke (Scott Patterson) enlists the help of everyone in Stars Hollow to throw her a graduation party. Emily (Kelly Bishop) and Richard (Edward Herrmann) attend the huge party, where Rory makes a speech thanking Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and the whole town for giving her such a great start in life. Luke’s thoughtfulness brings out an unexpected reaction from Lorelai (Lauren Graham). Finally, on the morning that Rory leaves Stars Hollow to start her career, Luke opens the diner before dawn to share a celebratory breakfast with the Gilmore girls. CNN journalist Christiane Amanpour makes a cameo appearance as a guest at the Dragonfly Inn. Melissa McCarthy, Keiko Agena, Yanic Truesdale and Sean Gunn also star.

The Futon Critic: Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Luke (Scott Patterson) come to a new understanding, Stars Hollow throws a huge graduation party for Rory, and CNN journalist Christiane Amanpour guest stars in the episode titled "Bon Voyage."

Lorelai's gesture is when she's drunk and doesn't even know what it means and then gives up without much onscreen regret or hurt when she isn't given a big lavish gesture as evidence of his affection. Luke gets hurt, but regroups and throws Lorelai and Rory a big party when he has no hope of reciprocation.

okay i see that my defense of luke's pov is taken as me seeing him as the victim. He's no victim but his journey his story is so clear so obvious. Whereas lorelai's is muddied water. Its like a wash of crap that we must fanwank to death. Should luke make a gesture--yes. But, should he have to prove his love for her to finally get it--no

Because of what's happened, she wants some reassurance. Unrequited love is not fun for anyone. If Lorelai believes her feelings aren't reciprocated, she's not going to waste time mourning that fact.

But see that's why I don't get her whole bit to Sookie at the beginning of 7.21, before any of the misunderstanding happens. If she thinks Luke doesn't care about her, shouldn't she be upset about the karaoke night from the point of view of Luke's reaction? They changed Lorelai's whole mindset. In 7.19-7.20 it's 'oh Luke doesn't care, but I still want to be friends with him, oh hey, I still love him and wish him well even if he doesn't love me' then in early 7.21, there's not a mention of 'oh heck, Luke might know how I feel about him.' Instead it's all about her deciding what she wants, as if Luke is going to be open and waiting for when she makes up her mind. If she's so convinced that Luke doesn't care about her that way, wouldn't she be more concerned about being caught out rather than trying to define exactly what her feelings are by seeing how she feels when she sees Luke?
