Right, that is what they were peddling two weeks ago. Then this past week, she thought her feelings might be nostalgia. And this week she needs a different guy, because Luke is still Luke. (AKA not the huge gesture guy.) Eh. It just didn't play out, emotionally, like you would expect it to, if they are trying to sell us on the she loves him and is waiting for a sign. Or maybe I am just tired and it will all look peachy in the morning. (Doubtful, but here's hoping. Heh.)

No, she wants Luke to love her. And she's convinced that he doesn't.

Didn't she say that everytime she does something, he won't respond? I think she's just decided not to sit around and pine.

She says that she's over him and Rory tells her that she thinks he is not over her. Lorelai says that everytime she does something, he doesn't do anything. (ie the song) She says that she wants a man that feels, that shows her how he feels or something along those lines. She says they are better off as friends.

Oh yeah she slips in the part about how they are having the reenactment party because Rory had no idea. Then they talk about more rollercoasters and not screaming.

I don't think she turns it off or lets it go. She thinks Luke doesn't feel that way. She thinks she humiliated him, so she's burying the feelings back in their cozy little hiding space so she isn't "hurt" as much again. There's nothing worse than that feeling of being rejected, and feeling unloved when you put yourself on the line. I think she's shutting off again to stop feeling anything. His gesture will probably surprise her because it's out of the blue for her.

I do think Lorelai has changed. Luke isn't a holy god...but yeah he's come a long way this season.

I agree with Saranoh. She needs reassurance to validate her feelings. Until then she'll pretend they don't exist.

A) deaf like a 80 year old woman
B) losign sight

or C) So self-involved she doesn't know **** all!

meh I am so tired of this game. Of these writers. Destroying a woman that was once loveable. Don't they see that there is a big chunk of their audience that just isn't buying what they're selling cause the product is defective.

This is the line they've been trying to sell us all season, yet if this was the case, Lorelai would have been distraught about her drunken karaoke song. Yet in her initial conversation with Sookie in the last ep she didn't even think to question what Luke was feeling. It was all about whether her feelings were nostalgic or not. Shouldn't she have been stressing about Luke's reaction? It didn't even seem to occur to her that Luke might have an adverse reaction to the song until he acted abruptly with her in the diner.

although i do hate how LG delivered the line, i can understand her confusion. if we were suppossed to believe she saw his coldness at the diner as indifference (and i believe we were, despite the awful set-up of the scene), then i see her going into self-protective mode. i see her initiating the kiss, but i guess i can understand her needing to see him do something. i've always seen her blunder has so much bigger, but every now and then, i have to remind myself of how unsure Lorelai was S6--she got to the point of not thinking he wanted her...so i can see, how after all this time, she just needs a sign. and the whole 'i just like seeing you happy' is it. and the audio promo (*sigh*), with their voices, makes it all better for me. again, JMO....it's my way of staying happy & excited for the finale

ooo...just saw oth and man, did they mention it like 5 times.....2 visual promos--all LL kiss.....for ppl saying the finale shouldn't be all LL, they are sure promoting it like that

I never said that you said that lol...I'm just saying that he plays a big part in all this. It's not just Lorelai that needs to step up. He should have said something about the song to her....instead they just skirt around it. again.

I don't think Lorelai was destroyed. She messed up. She made some bad choices, but I don't think she's lost who she is.

The DCC sound sad for both the girl, without guys and going on a road trip, they just need those cats now. LOL

But at least we know how it ends for Lorelai, she see how good Luke is and this backs up my SPEC that the first kiss is a "thank you" kiss and do a deep passionate one.

I agree. Luke went into his shell when April showed up on his doorstep. He handled things horribly. Admittedly Lorelai didn't handle things well either but Luke left her hanging. He left her doubting. OK, so the karaoke was alcohol fueled but "Come on Luke! Get a clue. The whole town has" He SHOULD have been the one to make the next move.

I think the whole "misunderstanding" thing they went for in yesterday's episode played out terribly. It was poorly written and even more poorly directed. It flopped big time but as I need to end this show in a freakin' good frame of mind I am willing to let it go for the sake of my own sanity. That DC however has not helped. Talk about phoning it in LG.......

But all that said and done I think we need to hop of the "Luke is the victim" train and start to insist that HE make some effort too. Lorelai has over the past few episodes made an effort, she's desperate for him to respond but typically he hasn't. I don't blame her denial to Hello Magazine but OMG I wish that scene had been written and directed sooo much better.

As for Luke making the grand gesture ..... well so he should. He'll do it not because he wants bed Lorelai Gilmore once more, not because he feels he has to but because he wants to and because he loves her and as he says "I just want you to be happy" I see nothing wrong with that. It makes my heart bleed that so many do. It takes two to tango and BOTH Luke and Lorelai contributed to the break up so they should BOTH contribute to the reconciliation. So far Luke has done nada...... I don't blame Lorelai needed some sort of indication. It doesn't make her a queen bitch it makes her human. Sure she's got faults but she isn't that bad.

I would have thought she'd learn to move past that but i guess thats what happens when the "talent" start poking their heads in the writing.

I think from her perspective right now that's a pretty fair assessment. It's only natural for her to be defensive and to me it shows that her denial in the DC is absolute BS! She does care and I think deep down inside she is very sad that so far he has shown nada. But YMMV and that's cool.

And can I add a Bravo Rory for asking querying whether Lorelai was over Luke instead of the guy she was recently married to. That's accidental comedy at its best!!!
