Why I rarely post elsewhere: I almost blew it in an SP thread where I mentioned Lorelai's two visits to the diner, totally forgetting that the spoiler-free might not watch the DC....

I backtracked and said I'd made a mistake, and I meant only one visit, but that was a close one.

That's exactly why I never post anywhere else. I have a hard enough time not spoiling my friends every Tuesday night when we get together. I wouldn't be able to do it in the un-spoiled threads.

I'm so excited about tomorrow's episode!!

My spec about next week's episode: It says "meanwhile, Luke overhears Lorelai say her karaoke singing didn't really mean anything and is hurt" so I'm thinking that maybe Luke will confront Lorelai about it towards the end of the episode, possibly contrasting to Rory saying no to Logan's proposal. Makes sense to me lol.

I'm still basking in the amazingness of last week's car shopping/CS scenes

And the DCC

I love having LL back full force!!

That used to happen to me all the time. You start just taking spoilers as known facts. I have some friends from FF that are so majorly spoiler free that I have to be in a totally different midset when talking and speculating with them (unless I'm trying to spoil them.) But, once I stopped posting all the time in the JJ thread, all of my speculation was just on here, so it made it so much easier.

I had to really try to avoid speculating last year, because it was like the black cloud of doom and gloom. Not that it helped, because it was soooo obvious something was up. But I didn't want to come right out and tell people what was coming. I am glad that this year, I don't have to completely avoid speculating in unspoiled places.

Well I know someone at work who is stuck back in S5 (where our local TV is) and I don't know what to say, so much has happened in the last 2-3 years. She did call Lorelai "special" and it was all I could do without spilling!

I know how you feel. I"m so afraid to post anywhere else because I have a BIG mouth! So I'm very careful. Although, I don't understand why anyone would want to be unspoiled.

I am pretty sure that she says "That's great." I went back and rewatched it several times, since I saw this question (in addition to the several times I watched it on the DC and during my repititous viewing of the entire episode). I have thought, everytime that I watched it that she says, That's great, in response to Luke's see you round...very uncomfortably!

Actually, I hate being spoiled. This is the only show for which I'm spoiled and I only started looking for spoilers late in S6. I wanted to know when the unpleasant episodes would end -- I never dreamed the unpleasantness was going to be followed by ugliness and that it'd take a year to get good news. Oy.

I hope the singing isn't too embarrassing tomorrow. And that FND has some good moments -- from the promo it's where Rory reveals the NYT news, but I hope they try to make it a classic FND anyway.

I don't know, if it's a consequence that the showrunner of GG is a man now, but it's interesting to watch how he used a car issues to resolve some problems and to show how great Luke is. He used it in "Philadelphia" episode with Richard's car being a little low on gas and I loved the double meaning of Emily's words about filling it "with premium, not whatever sludge they try to pass off as regular". And we got a new version of car symbolism in the last episode. Lorelai's jeep having, according to Gypsy, "total internal destruction" is in my opinion a symbol of Lorelai, exactly, a symbol of Lorelai's heart: There was a place the little place where Rory signed her name in permanent marker.
Lorelai caused her own total internal destruction, destruction of what she was before, when she decided to go to Christopher and then she continued it getting married, despite the "check-engine light" indicating that she's going in the wrong direction. She said to Jackson: "I guess that check-engine light is not just a suggestion". She ignored the red light, she did what she did, she got what she deserved. If you ignore the inner red light, the gut, the self-destruction is programmed to happen. A new engine, with clean history - no accidents, no failed emissions -is needed to repair a broken heart.
