Well considering the majority of them get their information from the CW episode description, it's no surprise it's worded that way.

I'm looking forward to Babette and Miss Patty singing, Kirk, Lorelai (since they're all singing), etc. It should be a blast.

If you ignore the inner red light, the gut, the self-destruction is programmed to happen. A new engine, with clean history - no accidents, no failed emissions -is needed to repair a broken heart.
Too much symbolism?

I love this whole car metaphor thing. Thanks for this post, there were definitely some I didn't register, like the ones with Richard in the hospital. I like the fact that in the case of Richard it was Luke who filled up the car with the "premium" and with Lorelai he is the one who found her the new engine ...

For me the "why" is still not something I wonder a lot about. I think if you keep on driving/running without giving a car a rest on occasion, the engine will fall apart at one point. And that is what happened. Lorelai has been shown to be a runner on more occasions (not only literally, but also figuratively ... Max/cancelling the marriage and the roadtrip, Chris and the Balcony (being hurt emotionally leading to that Balcony scene) ... and I am sure there are more examples. Lorelai I believe has always had a hard time to deal with hurt, to simply let that sink in and learn from it. She always preferred to NOT deal and well, after the Luke and the ultimatum situation that wasn't an easy thing to do. The sleeping with Chris in Partings I still see as being devastated and trying to hold on to someone. A person that did feel safe to her in a way Chris felt that way to her. He would NOT turn her away, like in Lorelais experience Luke had done.

Than we have Luke saying she should be with a guy like Christopher ... and they should just go back to being the guy that pours the coffee and Lorelai Gilmore. And in a way she went back. Back to a time where Chris still was an option, a might-be ... and he pushed and she jumped. But again, like Sookie said in FMP:

SOOKIE: I'm sorry, it's just, I have a but.
LORELAI: Yes?
SOOKIE: If there were no Luke, I mean no Luke in the past, no Luke in the picture...
LORELAI: Yeah?
SOOKIE: Well, would it be Christopher? Would he be "the one"?
[Lorelai doesn’t answer]

And for me the why is in here. This marriage was a reaction to the hurt of the breakup with Luke. Because if Luke would have not been in the picture, Chris would NOT be "the one". She made him the tempary one (or sort of tried to convince herself) because she desperately wanted to move on and not deal with the pain from loosing/not having Luke.

Okee, for now done with the thinking about that

Will focus on the Lorelai singing bit. I have seen some others posting about the effect that will have on them (or they are expecting that) ... I am one of those that just can't stop grinning even thinking about the "performance". Can't %^&*-ing wait. I am sure this will totally crack me up, but I am expecting to slowly (this is what I am hoping) stop laughing and thinking AAAAAAAAHHHHHH when the focus of the song will shift towards Luke. I am sort of weirdly nervous about this scene. Which is a good thing ...

I love your post with the symbolism, Mag. And it all makes sense, so DR apparently put some thought in it. I mean, this can't be a product of 'just writing on and see what's happening'.

And I have to wait about 33 more hours to see the episode.

I agree with everyone that said Chris would've been (relatively) ok in seasons 2-3. IMO, even season 4, instead of Jason, could've somehow worked, if it were absolutely necessary at all.

But, the minute Lorelai fell in love with Luke, realized that and then they, LL both, acted on their feelings for each other, Chris was supposed to be forever gone as a romantic interest or threat. The timing of Chris in seasons 6-7 (execution in Partings and subsequent marriage), was wrong and inconceivable to me, as apparently it was to the other actors, or some of them. I vividly remember seeing MM say in a clip how shocked they were in the reading room finding out about Lorelai, because they felt, as many of us fans did, that Lorelai wouldn't have slept with Christopher that way, that night, hurting Luke so badly (I wish I could now find that short clip of her saying that).

But, moving on.
I'm already excited about tonight's episode, meeting Quan (spelling?) and Steve, and the karaoke scenes.
The title "Lorelai? Lorelai?" sounds to me like something someone says while trying to wake another person up. Perhaps Lorelai out of her drunken stupor? Perhaps Rory out of her dream? Or maybe it's just someone at the bar calling Lorelai to be next up on stage.

I believe it should be Kwan, 'cause Lane being a Corean, Lane and Zack must have given one of their sons a Corean name. In Corean, it should spell 관, consist of three characters, ㄱ, ㅘ, ㄴ. And I think Gwan is more acurate than Kwan 'cause Kwan sounds as 콴(ㅋ, ㅘ, ㄴ) in Corean and 콴 is not a Corean name.
So when they say the name, it sounds like a Chinese name, not a Corean name.
Of course, anything above may not apply, if Lane and Zack named their son after like some movie character, or something.

Tonight's Tuesday again! The weeks go by so much faster when we're not in hiatus.

I'm really excited to see all the mother/daughter stuff tonight. And E/R at a FND. And I'm very curious to see how Lorelai ends up singing to Luke, when she starts off about Rory.

YEP! combined with the Mac I now have more than 1TB of storage! Just a pity I can't get the second 512Mb of RAM working in the PC. Anyone know how to crack a BIOS password?

Back on topic, maybe Luke will install a wireless hot spot in Luke's for Lorelai so she can email Rory every day like she did in season 4.

I am not sure if anyone has posted the info about the radio promo for tonight's show, but I just heard it on the way to work (so I don't have time to go back through the thread pages right now) so I figured I would share anyway!

Announcer: Tonight on an all new GG, an old love returns for Lorelai.
Lorelai (excitedly): I went into Luke's diner and he was wearing the hat that I gave him! What do you think that means?
Rory (moaning): Mom
Announcer: And spring love blossoms for Rory.
Logan (seriously): Lorelai, I love Rory and I came to ask your permission.
Lorelai: Uh oh.

That's it. I loved the way that she was talking about Luke and the hat. And based on the other promo and the moaning voice, I think she is talking to Rory when she is in the bed under the covers, since she is still in her diner clothes!

Anyway, I am really looking forward to it!
