Such a fantastic episode, and so many L/L scenes (and great ones too!)

But c'mon people...Luke doesn't eat milkshakes. You should know that.

So sweet of him to look into fixing the car. So it was just the engine he needed...

I swear, there's SOMETHING about having your good old trusty car that you can't replace. My friend (and I too) got in an accident (we were all uninjured...except for the car), and she had really loved her car so much (it was an old hand-me-down Oldsmobile from her father), so when the news came that the car was unfixable, they were lucky to find a garage that had HER exact car (same year also) that was in working condition. I'm glad Lorelai has her jeep back

Also, Doyle and Paris scene in the end, was, like,

I loved it to bits...

Why does Sookie have all this free time to go to work, and then sit with her husband on a porch for a few hours, when her TWO children are with the chicken pox? Oh, writers...stupid writers. Love them anyway.

The car shopping scene(s) were great. I love my L/L back. And I was crying for Rory in the end...Doyle and Paris are celebrating (and I'm sure they went to their room to 'talk' and 'celebrate' and Rory gets such sad news. I predict that, perhaps, Logan isn't as willing to stick it out with Rory ANYWHERE SHE GOES as Doyle is willing to follow Paris anywhere she goes. Perhaps that's going to be the disparity in situations?

Best episode of the season, no doubt. But it could have used:

A) A bit more townie like Babette and Ms. Patty.
B) Gypsy. They could have put her in the Dragonfly Inn scene and it would have fit. Very sad that the writers didn't when they really should have. Easy: Lorelai calls Gypsy for update on car. Gypsy says Lorelai should start shopping. Gypsy/Lorelai banter, Gypsy says that the car is (whatever Lorelai said she said in the scene), needs to be put to sleep. Lorelai says thank you. Sookie asks "What did Gypsy say?" and the scene goes on. Car magazine prop shows up unexplained.
C) C'mon...they gave us a ONE-SIDED phone call between Lorelai and Luke? Sad. Very sad. They should have done it full out, and if they needed to shorten it a line, to shorted the phone call by a line.

Luke's exact words to Lorelai were:

... so if you want to keep your old car, for whatever crazy feeling it gives you, okay? Then buy this guy's car, send it to Gypsy, she’ll take the engine out, put it in the old car, which makes absolutely no sense because you’d basically be paying the same amount of money to fix your old car as you would be paying to get into a new one.

This episode was pure L/L at its best - the dealership scenes was so old them and new them it is scary all the anvils old and new are just so great - I hope we get a season 8 because I need to see them together together = no more trees about wasted 15 eps because if the writers don't see it tonight i don't know what to say but SP and LG were incredible and lorelai was back and luke was incredible
nice to see the real lorelai and pod lorelai gone

so many things in that car scene whether it was the tiles, the milkshakes, the food, the looks it was all them and all there and half we never saw on screen but oh so right - it felt so right

BTW the craigslist site gave me a laugh the first time I learnt about it.

That was how I understood it (makes no sense the other way). So I watched that part again and he says put the other car's engine into your car. So its the old car with a new engine.
