I don't see how Luke could react at all given the spoilers we have. He's surrounded by patty, babette, and Rory, and maybe some others. It's not like he's going to storm out, nor will he just run up to the stage and tell her loves her too. If anything, they'll probably spend the rest of the night/party, until one of them decides to leave, not talking, both of them still processing what just happened and what it means.

And since Luke's upset when he hears that Lorelai didn't mean it, he can't have reacted too poorly. It seems more likely that he believed what she was singing than not.

I do that Cinefille. We just reach different conclusions. The title of this thread is, after all, L/L Anaylsis & Speculation. Not Agreeable Speculation.

I don't try and dictate how you should be speculating, or what the "correct" discussion should be for this board, or lecture other posters on the "proper" way to analysis. And I'm not bashing Lorelai - calling her names or what not. After sitting through the last year and a half of watching this ship get torpedoed, having the last scene of Partings forever burned in my brain, hearing all the ILY's and lovey-dovey slop between L/C, I better be given a good reason for my loyalty and committment to sticking it out. I wouldn't still be here if I didn't love L/L. Tough love baby.

I'm just offering my viewpoint and I respect yours. Please do the same for me.

Ciaobella, the fact that we get more explanations from the writers about Lorelais POV and therefor you say sympathy (I definitely do not feel there is equal sympathy for L/L, I get the impression there is more for Luke, but could be the wrong impression) doesn't equate to me that Lorelai is never thrown under a psychological bus. The fact that we maybe get more insight to why the bus hit her and well what the brand is and all, doesn't mean that bus didn't still ran over her (multiple times).

FYI, attempts to lighten the mood and snarky humour are always appreaciated by me. I could whip up a few limericks if I have to, but they might offend some of you lol.
