I don't know about the ultimatum,but Luke will pretty much admit that he was using April as an excuse to keep Lorelai at a distance. He's just admitting his mistakes.Just remember that this is what I was told(which means that it's someone's interpretation), so don't shoot me if it turns out to be wrong.

will we ever find out and i mean in general why he did that was it because of Rory ? and waiting the first time for setting the date, was it because he could, emotionally? was it because he never loved her ....or because he had enough of her mind games and deceided because he finally had someone more important than her he could go ahead and act like a 12 year old boy

but like nst said, its rewriting history. So are we to assume that after loving her forever and being all-in with her he suddenly got scared? of what her penchant for dissign his taste in furniture? seriously how do they rewrite a character's personal and emotional crisis into an excuse?

I don't think he'll be using it as an excuse in 7.18. I think he'll be apologizing for using it as an excuse last season.

Thanks Sara. I agree it's rather strange. I always found that caption to be so off. They really don't "get" Luke and his one-track mind/obliviousness if they are going to write it like this.

But........oh well. Honestly as long as they're sincerely sorry for whatever reason, I'm cool with it.

face it the show ended when she proposed thats how i see it - because they just singlehandly rewrote history to the point of alination (sp)

its the same i saw the x-files ending when scully announced she was pregnant and i have never ever except for the orginal time it was on seen seasons 8 and 9

Well then I don't "get it" either because I always agreed with the caption to some extent. And I still like Luke. And y'all, it's not as if Lorelai has looked like a complete angel this season. This isn't being done to make her look like the martyr or excuse her sleeping with Chris. It's probably just an attempt to let the audience know that her fears were somewhat valid.
