I disagree. As much as I tend to sympathize with Lorelai during that crisis, I don't think Luke was intentionally being a jerk. Even if he deliberately kept Lorelai at a distance,he wasn't trying to hurt her. He just didn't know how to handle the situation in a healthy way.

It took me months to understand why lorelai would be so self-destructive because as messed up and stupid as luke was being i could get it. Going through that sort of thing is hard. I suppose I just didn't get why she didn't just put the situation to a halt and grab the situation by the balls um i mean horns

I don't think there is time for a proposal. The karaoke is in 20, so Luke gets a clue that maybe she still has feelings for him. The graduation pretty much takes up all of 21. So then we have 22 to tie up all the loose ends. I think the best we are going to get is ... Do you want to give it another go.

I am with you, I think they compressing the seeing his/her face moment into one episode, because the next one is all about Rory. Therefore, the culmination is logically in 22. And I have trouble seeing a proposal that quickly. But then again, in TV logic and storytelling often part ways. (See also: Mulder buried for 6 months)

Me three. They haven't done anything fast for LL yet. That leaves some other event in epi 22 for the scene-in-which-the-initiator-has-been-swapped. Kiss? Declaration? Request to try again?
