I really don't want to see SP in a horror movie. I hate horror movies with every fiber of my being.

As much as I love SP and think he's really grown as an actor over the course of Gilmore Girls, he doesn't have LG's name recognition (and even hers is minimal compared to truly A-list stars) or history in the business. Plus, he'll be pushing fifty by the time the show ends. I wish he could be cast in a cute dramedy opposite Diane Lane or Laura Linney, or in a cool, smart action film, but it's not gonna happen.

The very best SP can hope for in the next year is a guest-starring or recurring role on a network series, and perhaps a regular role in another series in the year(s) after.

I asume he knows by now but didn't when he signed for this flick.

Plus alot of actors sometimes feel they have to cast agst type - they don't want to be pigeon-holed into one type of character. So SP might just do it to stretch his acting wings. Altho I don't know how much acting it takes to scream alot and cover your family jewels. But whatever lol.

I wish that he could be recognized for what good work he does. I get kind of annoyed that the "young, hot" guys get so much attention for doing mediocre work. Although I must say that it's worse for women than men with the age thing. I guess that I would just like people to recognize talent rather than names.

Actually, I think that someone like SP, because he is a man nearing 50, has a better chance at getting a decent series because Hollywood doesn't seem to discriminate against men his age as much as they do against women of that age (grrrr).

Look at Mark Harmon (he's 56) who is older than SP - he got a starring role in a series and I don't think he's anywhere near as good an actor as SP. Harmon is just a more familiar face/name in general. And they are giving Harmon love interests....so, I say bring it on - though for a few reasons, I'd prefer he got an HBO/Showtime series....

I just hope SP's agent is an agressive fellow/woman who will do right by him....

There are lot of character actors Stanley Tucchi - behind the scences movie actors - Callie's Father on grey's can't remember his name

But I do agree he would be perfect in a drama role - comedy a touch more dramatic comedy - like Grey's

Which is why we should campaign for Shonda R to put SP in that series with JDM. She has no problem playing the sex card. And of course there should be good acting and writing, but ah, you know what I mean. Hee.

maybe he should go on and work with william peterson on csi because thats is a show I have just discovered is good
