well even if there isn't a season 8, it sounds like the series will get a proper ending. i thought i heard that season 8 would be determined around the middle of may.

no that was the official announcement.

If we don't start seeing some promos for the series end by the time 719 airs..then i doubt this is the end.

Until I hear something official from the network or a reliable source in the industry, (tour guides certainly don't count), I'm not buying into anything. I think we'll have a better idea when we get back from hiatus. If they start promoting the remaining shows as: "don't miss these final episodes of Gilmore Girls", or "don't miss the *series* finale", then it will be pretty obvious we're not getting another season.

If we don't hear words like 'final" or "series" finale, that'll be a much better sign IMO. I have also heard we may not know anything until May 17th, the date the networks announce their fall schedules. Since the upfronts come two days after 7.22 airs, it's conceivable we may not know if we're watching the season (or series) finale on May 15th. I really hope we hear something official before then.

I didn't learn much. I took a tour whether it be Deluxe or VIP, everyday this week except for yesterday, when all filming was closed. It was a holday for studio so no filming for any show or movie. I didn't see the point in going on a tour where you would see limited stuff. I did see them finish up eppy 21 at Miss Patty's Dance Studio. Now I know they may not filmin sequence, but I do know that Tuesday's filming started late and lasted way into the night. Wednesday began eppy 22 and it started in Stage 18, either the DFI and/or the CS -- doors were closed and locked with no admittance. Saw LG and AB a couple of times, looking like they were in deep conversations with each other (both times). Neither had a script in their hands -- I can speculate that they were talking about "other" things -- if you know what I mean, I saw them preparing an evening scene at Sookie's house for filming on Thursday. On Thursday, they also were filming at Luke's Diner as well as Sookie's. As of Thursday nite late, they still had Sookie's house as a "hot" set, meaning resume filming on Monday. I was snake bitten all week with no SP sightings, but saw his car 2-3 times.

"Where is Katie"?????? A mystery to me.

Sigh. I don't want to see promos like "Watch the last 4 episodes of Gilmore Girls ever!"

Sad to even think about.

I can't believe that if they already know there is no season 8 for 6 weeks now (according the previous poster the decision one way or the other has been made) that they have not been pushing the ads for watching the last 5 episodes of GG.
Therefore it would seem like there is going to be an 8th season based on this knowledge. I hope that's not just wishful thinking.

Welcome, spa. I was also a longtime lurker.

IA with the above. They have to let us know soon if it is the end so they can bring in viewers. I want to know beforehand so I know how to feel by the time the finale airs.

I wonder if LG really did sign for S8 already and when she did. It would seem pointless for the WB to have LG sign if there was no S8.

If we should know by the end of the month, and what he said about marketing the series ending before it ends, did he seem to imply that there's no season eight?

Welcome SPA! I definatly think come the end of this month we will know the fate of the show, for obvious reasons. Theyd want to bring in as many viewers as they can if these 5 epi's are the last ones. They are filming hte finale so they must know by now.

Thanks vaso for finding the S8 stuff from Akarana so if they are hiding the truth that TPTB know if or if not we are getting S8 then that why. If we have S8 I guess they want people watching 'cause didn't they already lean once the next season news is out that some stop watching 'cause they know they can catch it later in re-runs plus catch up in the new season.

If no I really want the "Only 5 eps left EVER" promo to prepare for the end.

So anything else new?

God, a promo saying "Don't miss the last episode of Gilmore Girls", I think the words alone would make me cry,especially if the end would come after season 7 and all the crap they put us through.
I don't want it to end after seven. We deserve an eigth season with Luke and Lorelai as a couple, damn it!

I don't know if I want a proposal, I know they are long term friends, and dated then engaged for 2 year so the next engagement IMO would be short, they will not want to hang around and will want to get on with thing quick as they will be ready this time. Luke is the one who should ask as it will show he has forgiven Lorelai for her part in the break up. Then Lorelai saying yes would be her sign to Luke she has forgiven Luke.

IMO Starting with HBM they will talk more, like they used to and that starts with the SUV stuff, maybe we even see Lorelai going to Luke when she hears about the Logan proposal, so leaning on Luke like she used to, we can only hope.

But as to if we have enough time for then to get engaged again I really would hope so, we all know how quick things can move on this show sometimes.

OT - SP and Saw, from his POV it's a job and as Chery said probably fun to make, especially if it's less than 2 months work. It's not the size of the movie that matters, this is why Lauren has done a lot of relatively small movies or small rolls.
