Spoilers - Gilmore Girls ~ Luke/Lorelai Analysis & Speculation #365 - Page 8

Now I'm imagining the apology scene to be really benign - she's sorry; he's sorry; let's be friends again....yawn. Man, I hope they manage to finally inject some spark into these last episodes.

I would want one or both to say they missed one another but I'm afraid one or other is going to say that more than anything they missed the friendship and they will still not be communicating - because we have supposedly been lead to believe Lorelai has feelings for Luke and it was implied that Luke had feelings for her (duh) in the scene where he is lying in bed listening to Liz/TJ talk about him and Lorelai -

So, still, after all this crap they have been through, neither of them is just gonna say it would be too hard to go back to being the friends they used to be because he/she still has strong feelings for the other???

grrrr....I get that they each don't know how the other feels and are likely going to be being cautious, but the show is running out of time and I just wish they would have one of these characters finally take a humongous risk and leap of faith and SAY SOMETHING....okay, done with rant.

We have seen 17 episodes so far. They finished shooting episode 20 on Friday or they started with 21 on Friday - I'm not so sure about that but either way episode 21 is in the making. The season has 22 episodes.

I think that will come. First they try the friendship route but it isn't working and one of them will blurt it out. At least I hope it goes that way and I want Lorelai to be the one who says it. That she wants more but is happy to at least get the friendship.

i'm hoping that they would try to go back to being freinds, but end up being more. aren't they already trying to go back to being freinds?

thanks, yeah five episodes isn't really enough to get luke and loralei back together propertly

I don't think it'll be as simple as that. There's no way Lorelai would go back into the diner after just simple "I'm sorry"s are passed around. For them to be willing to be friends again, which means being around eachother a lot more and everything, I feel like they'd need to really let some things out and come to a better understanding of what happened and why, before they can agree to be friends again.

I'm gald you have a higher expectation but after the stupid fiasco of C/L and how quickly and unceremoniously the "marriage" was discarded, I expect absolutely nothing in the way of complexity in anything related to this show - nothing this year that has been done remotely resembled complexity or true emotional depth - in my opinion. But, the up side of this low level of expectation is that it can't really go any lower...

We know they talk at the end of episode 18 and they apologize for what they did. We also know they have a fight/debate/argument/talk in episode 19 which is positive right or does that belong to the talk they have in 18 ?

I was hoping that since DR didn't blow AS-P's vindictive season ender out of the water and didn't making Lorelai wakes and really show regret about sleeping with C. Tell's him all the things that needed to be said to C., then she married him. I would have love if DR had giving Lorelai back her brain when she came home and realized that she actually married the twerpt and end thing in 7-08 instead of dragging them out and making it the happy couple walking around SH and all the ILY's.

For me that's what is going to tainted the L/L coupling again... and I want that coupling again really, really badly.

Sorry, this will be my last word around that tree and from now on I will be hoping and thinking positive thought about L/L coupling.

Episode 19: According to MA "the end result" of thier (insert whatever this interaction is considered here) in 7.19 is "defiantly positive" but it does not result in them officially getting back together.

Though we are 8 pages into the new thread already, I wanna thanks Mots15 - my hero

- for starting the new thread and the amazing Craig for sharing the LL spoiler with us.

It isn't a surprising one: the 2 of them being romantically involved but to which extent depend entirely on S8 being confirmed or not is exactly what I knew DR was going to do when he said "we have a complete story arc for S7". Byt thank you nonetheless.

My spec is that if S7 is the last one they'll elope (not my favourite option) or - since nor Luke neither Lorelai have never had a proper wedding and I'm sure Lorelai's dreaming of a romantic one with dress, daisies and lobsters (and possibly the right groom this time!

) - they'll have the town going all Fandango (ever seen the movie with Kevin Kostner? They organize a weddin' within a day by having a small town helping them with food, chairs, lights, music and flower) and helping them organizing the wedding within' a day. I'd actually love that

I love the idea of the town throwing them a wedding, it always seemed strange to me that when Lorelai was planning their wedding, she didn't want to have it in the gazebo or at the DFI. Considering that the town is family to both of them, and they both technically grew up there it just makes perfect sense.

I would give A LOT to get that S8 just to see a fun town wedding and L/L staring a new part of their lives together.
