I don't quite get what the argument is about; never, not for a second, did I ever think that the writers would not include Luke in Rory's graduation; the same goes for Chris. If the Palladinos were still around, it wouldn't be different at all and both men would be there as well. I expect that by the time L/L/C shows up at Graduation the "notatrianglefromhell" (as notoutforawalk used to call it) is over and both men swallow their pride, "bury the hatchet" for a day and allow Rory to enjoy her day...at least I surely hope so.

If they get into any kind of a fight, fists or otherwise, than neither of them deserve to be there. But, frankly, with this possibility in the offing, I'd prefer Luke not be there because, of the two, Chris SHOULD be there. I think it would really bother Rory if Chris weren't there as opposed to Luke.
Luke would not get into any kind of fight at Rory's graduation. He knows how to put children first, and he knows how important it is to her unlike her biological father. Luke would not allow their petty differences to interfere with Rory's day. He was at her highschool graduation and he knew how hard she has worked since she was a young child to achieve this goal. He in fact is one of the few that was a witness to the part of her life that saw her grow from a precocious child to a determined young woman. He was there when she got her PSAT's scores, when she got her College acceptance letter's, when she was making her pro/con list. He help her move her stuff into residence the first year. Christopher was absent.

Of the 2 I do not think that Christopher is the only one that SHOULD be there. He still even after marrying Lorelia paid little heed to Rory. He didn't even think she should be at their wedding. He didn't think she should be notified when her room was going to be taken over.
The only reason I think he should be there is because he is actually footing the bill for her education. For that and that alone he deserves a ticket to the event. If Christopher wasn't there- Rory would not be surprised, he wasn't there for most of her life.

Yep I'm with you George. I think it's going to be such a sweet episode. *If* this is the last season, this scenario is the truest to the show. Everyone is in their respective place, and everyone is putting their crap aside --and hopefully in the past-- to celebrate Rory's day. It sounds perfect to me.

ETA: Just, I love the fanfic you linked! And now I desperately want a good Lorelai/Richard scene.

stupid DB error! But check the tour thread at TWoP. Apperantly there is a dream sequence being filmed; something with Rory's desk.. and the poster also saw LG and MM filming near Weston's.

ITA, and hope so, as well. I also hope there's more of a graduation celebration back in SH or at the Gilmore mansion, with everyone invited. I wouldn't mind at all if the whole episode were to focus on the graduation, perhaps starting a couple of days prior to it, leading to a couple after, when the "high" of the celebrations is over and Rory needs to start the next stage of her life (or goes on a long awaited vacation with Logan - "invading" Asia, perhaps....)

I also agree with this, and I think both Rory and Lorelai would too. I do hope however, that Chris, by being there after what went down between him and Lorelai, will be shown to know how to put Rory first. Rory needs that from him.

Thanks for the info, saranoh.

Can anyone bring the tour info here, please?

Hey everyone! Just wanted to give a short report about my awesome Delux Tour at the WB. My tourguide (TG) was awesome and very knowledgeable about GG. I went with my sister and there were some other GG fans on the tour, so we got to see everything. All of the indoor sets were very interesting to see. We saw the elder Gilmore's house, Paris and Rory's apartment, the Dragonfly, Yale, and the CS (though only through the kitchen as it was a hot set). We got to see Rory's desk in the middle of the elder Gilmore's driveway (though not a driveway at the moment) for some kind of dream sequence that is filming, along with another set from seasons past We also got to walk through SH (when my sister and I did a regular VIP tour last year they were filming the running scene at Lane's wedding so we didn't get to see it), however we couldn't take pictures because they were setting up for a scene in SH and were filming a scene of Cold Case down one of the streets.

After lunch however, we got to go back and watch part of a GG scene being filmed. We saw Lauren Graham and Melissa McCarthy (who said hi to us and was talking to our tourguide). What we saw of the scene was Lorelai and Sookie walking across the town square towards Westons that really doesn't give anything away because we couldn't hear anything, but I tagged it anyway. All we heard was Lauren asking for tape before they started filming, and when Melissa joked with us that it took being on a delux tour to get to stand in the shade (it was very warm in the sun). It was asked about an 8th season, and hopefully Sassy has other news, but the TG apparently was talking to a producer the other day and things didn't seem hopeful But we should know definitively one way or the other by the end of the month (I'm guessing TG was talking about this month, so that means only a week to go). All in all, it was definately worth the extra money to do the delux tour. My sister and I had such a wonderful time and really got to see everything that we wanted to see (minus Studio 60 stuff and anyone from that show, but they were all busy filming in both sound stages all day).

I did feel bad for the other people on the tour who do not watch GG being we saw everything Gilmore (though we did see alot of other things as well, but the majority was Gilmore), however no one else spoke up when asked what they wanted to see/special interestes/etc, so I don't feel too bad. So if you go on a tour, make sure to make your wishes known, it really seemed to help today.

What do you mean Chris doesn't belong as one of them? This is Rory's graduation, isn't it? Rory's father deserves to be there more than Luke does! And, he is welcome because Rory loves him.
Good one. Daddy of the Year finally realizes he has a fist daughter - wow took him long enough

TV GUIDE PODCAST MARCH 23, 2007

DM = Daniel Manu
MA = Michael Ausiello
AC = Angel Cohn
MMcD = Maitland McDonagh

START 17.43

DM: Mike, you reported some big news for Gilmore fans, which is that the season is being pushed back a week.
MA: Y-, well not the season, but the---
DM: The next two episodes.
MA: Yeah, the return of the Gilmore, yeah.
DM: And also the finale, obviously that gets pushed back. And One Tree Hill as well.
MA: Yeah, a week. Yeah, it [Gilmore] will be coming back one week later because of the success of the PussyCat Dolls.
AC: Right, which is kind of funny, ‘cause it’s really doing better in that post-Model slot.
MA: They’re doing better in --- the second airing is doing better than the first airing, which is pretty insane.
AC: Right.
DM: Uh, Mike, a listener named Craig, who is a hard-core Gilmore fan, he writes us almost every week, wants to know “Will Rory invite Luke to her Yale-graduation?”
MA: Oww, I’m sure she will.
AC: He came to her high school graduation.
MA: Did you see that thing that I put in the column about how Christopher and Lorelai are gonna be going to the graduation together---
DM: Yeah.
AC: Yeah.
MA: and I was like “Oh, I guess they’re dating again” as a joke?
AC: Yeah.
MA: People really took that seriously.
DM: I think you got about five hundred comments to that posting. I mean, people went insane.
MA: They were. I mean, but obviously, it was a joke. But they’re her parents, of course they’re going to her graduation together.
MMcD: Apparently not.
DM: But you know how sensitive these fans are.
MA: That’s why I made the--- I pointed out afterwards, you know, “I’m kidding”, you know. It was just a joke.
AC: Is this person concerned that there is, like, gonna be a Cindy Brady situation? That there’s not enough tickets to the graduation?
DM: I think a lot of fans though, are concerned that there’s not gonna be enough time in the season to do a truly nice happy ending for Luke and Lorelai. To that point a listener named Cally, who wrote us a really sweet mail here, “In your last podcast you say ‘we might be able to picture Luke and Lorelai’s future together, and that is good’. Well, and this is in all caps, so she’s screaming: I DON’T WANT TO HAVE TO PICTURE THEM TOGETHER, I WANT TO SEE THEM IT. IF I WANTED THEM TO PICTURE THEM TOGETHER, I WOULD READ FANFICTION, WHICH I DO, BUT I WANT THIS TO HAPPEN ON THE SHOW, SO IT’S A REAL THING.
MMcD: Oh my…
AC: Oh my…
DM: Oh my…Cally, darling, these are actors reading scripts, nothing is real.
MA: Aww, why did you tell her that?
DM: Nothing is real.
AC: You just shattered her whole…
DM: Aww, but that’s sweet, that’s sweet.
MMcD: That’s very sweet.

Thanks lorelaisgirl for the TS

Cool I'm "hard-core" that's a little and a little dirty!

Again it's up to Rory and I can't wait to hear the the reason why Luke is there, maybe Rory will say to Luke "'Cause you've been like a father to me"

Thanks, Lancer and alcarterra.

A dream sequence? I guess it doesn't involve Christiane A., because she's supposed to be in the finale, not in 7.21. It would fit if she were in a dream sequence, though, as some other VIP guest stars, such as Paul Anka and Madeline Albright were. I wish all those musicians playing troubadors in "Partings" had just been part of a dream. In fact I wish the whole of "Partings" had just been a dream .... much of it felt like a nightmare.

I still think what the psychologist told Lorelai in "Partings" towards the end of their conversation, ("....You need to decide what you want and what you're willing to give up to get it, and then you got to be okay with that, or you got to be okay with waiting....You won't get anything unless you ask for it. And if you ask for it and you don't get it, maybe it wasn't worth having in the first place. Some things are just never meant to be, no matter how much we wish they were." - courtesy of Lancer's site), was ALL about the Palladinos and how they felt regarding the unsympathetic negotiations with the studio. It reflected their mood and their final act, just as Lorelai's Pow Wow Bang reaction with the ultimatum and then immediately sleeping with Chris, did. Beware of scorned creators!

ETA - Thanks for the podcast transcript, lorelaisgirl. It seems it may have been recorded on Friday, since the news of the delay of returning from hiatus was only on the site yesterday, and they're referring to it. Not that it matters. We knew about the schedule change before that, from curlyhead, anyway.

The only pictures I want are the ones from the studio on the day of the shoot or the screen caps when it airs!

Because he is not a Gilmore girl or involved with one of them. He takes all the screen time away from Rory and Logan and everyone else. He's not allowed on the show when he's not involved with one of the girls

Thanks for all the new info

A dream sequence? Too bad they didn't use it at the beginning of the season!
