Right now I don't think we know much, most of it's rumours which could be true but we don't what KAB wants, we don't know if LHG changed he mind about only coming back is KAB is also or whether a "Rorylite" season is even an option and unless it ends up happening I guess we never will.

Not really but I always liked Rachel. Don't know she was nice and that was such a cute scene. I would have accepted a LLD from her because Luke was really into her but NO we got Anna

Wouldn't have fit I know but the turtle we got now doesn't fit either.

I think that if April had been Rachel's kid, I might have even been rooting for a reunion between Luke/Rachel - I really liked her a lot. She seemed classy to me - she didn't have a huge freak out about Lorelai and I loved that she told him not to wait too long - she seemed to really love the guy and wanted him to be happy.

After all the Lorelai has done, if Rachel came through that diner door right now, I'd be hoping Luke would choose her....not gonna happen? yeah, I know.

Oh, me too. Classy moment. I'm holding off watching old episodes until this season is over and I know how it turns out. But it's definately moments like this one I'm missing

IA- AB has her whole life in front of her. She can handle one more season, especially since the rest of the cast is on board. I think she probaly has said no, but TPTB are still trying to talk her into one more season. The newtwork is too new to lose on of it's highest rated shows.

I also think TPTB all know the fate of the show already. But, if it's the end of the series, I'd expected them to make a statement sooner rather than later, because IMO, that should lure in more viewers, including people who've given up on the show during the last year or two. People tune in to watch the ending, even if they're not really fans anymore.

Heh. Over at the fan campaign site, it looks like they're planning some sort of flower campaign? Using daisies. That whole 1,000 yellow daisies thing I guess. Granted the daisies represented Max, but whatever.

I don't know if we'll ever really know what went down with all of these contract negotiations. I'm just hoping for the E! True Hollywood Story to shed a little light on the show.

We can only surmise that she can handle one more year. Maybe she can't. We don't know her and what she has had to put up with for the past 7 years. IMO she is not at all selfish. The cast and crew knew eventually that they would have to leave. What difference does one year make? They are all adults and know the nature of this business. All AB was contracted for was 7 years and that is all she is obligated to fulfill.

I agree that TPTB know that this will be the last season, but I don't know why they won't say anything. They can't possibly still be trying to change AB's mind. They should be hyping series ending episodes.

I agree with you both Mary and Mots15. On the other hand from her POV one more year could be too long for her if she feels the story has given her all it can.

As you said, Mots, another season would wrap up things properly.
But the point is, if this year Rory graduates - and we know she will - and we get to know she'll start her own journey, say in the last episode, what will be left for her character?
Sure they can invent something some SL for Rory but if I were AB I'd say no.
From AB's pov Rory's arch is complete and I really feel that way about this character.

I believe that the writers failed at writing a good story arc for the whole LC thing: had these 2 just dated for a while and broken up by november sweeps we would have had the whole LL SL wrapped properly.

So I guess that AB now has maybe some very good offers/chances for her carrier and her character's SL in GG has gotten as far as it was planned by ASP herself.
Why should she stay to save the writers asses from their own mistakes?

I won't be mad at AB if she leaves. She really is done with the show.
