I think that given that this is the end of the show, that they will have Luke and Chris being civil to one another. Having Luke at the graduation with the everyone else seems like a window into the future of the Gilmores and their extended families - Luke and Chris will, in the future we won't see, be at many events that involve Rory in the future - her graduation being the first.

I see that at the other thread some people are bothered by Luke being there - it makes total sense to me as a set up for the future they are all going to head off into...alas, we won't get to see any of it....sniff.
