Ha... I'd like to take my tour guide literally too. So maybe he sends CA, but we never see Logan?
It's too long ago but didn't we have a spoiler or contract information that Matt is in the last episode Don't get me wrong I wouldn't mind him not being around anymore than necessary but I don't think he just disappears like that

I'm actually glad Christopher is at the graduation this time. I was so mad at his lame excuse of having to work in S3. No matter what we may think of Christopher, he is Rory's dad and Rory loves him and he should be there for her. And it's nice to see he is going to come for his daughter and not sulk in a corner because Lorelai might be there etc. And I'd like to see some interaction between Luke and Christopher where Christopher tells Luke something along the lines of knowing he never should have married Lorelai because he knew she was still in love with Luke. Knowing he shouldn't have done what he did in 6.22. Anything to show that Christopher was just as at fault for what happened in Partings as Lorelai was. I'd love to see Christopher explain to Luke how upset Lorelai really was that night.

Probably won't happen, but it would be nice.
Chris should be at the ceremony. I can't be upset by that because it is the right thing for him to do. I would like to see a Chris/Luke conversation too, even though I wrote it in a joking way before. Similar to the one that Emily has with Luke in the diner that brings L&L back together in season 5. Of course, I would like to have L&L already together at the graduation though.

I am really happy that Luke will be at the graduation. He was at her Chilton graduation. He helped her move into Yale twice (I believe) to begin her next journey on so it’s only natural and fair that he be there to see her graduate as well.
TA, 2ggObsessed. Like Lorelai's letter to the court said, he's the one who's always been there for Rory. This is only right.

A pity her biological father can't even make it on his own.

Thank goodness DSR and company didn’t overlook this important factoid about Luke and his importance in Rory’s and Lorelai’s life. He has always been there for Rory, unlike her biological father, and will always be there for her....
I'm glad for Luke, I'm glad for Rory, but after seven years of looking forward to her graduation, I'm astonished that they've managed to make me actually not want to watch it.

He can do at least one thing right in his life and show up there and be there for his daughter. Take part in something that is important to her onces in Rory's life. Really wow - 22 years had to go by till he does one dad thing for her and I really hope he makes it about her and nothing else.

It's gonna be fun not only to have Chris and Luke at the graduation but also to see E&R reactions, where will they all sit, will Lorelai be between Luke and Chris or will Luke be on the end like in 3.22 and Chris on the other end next to Richard?

For someone who has never scene a Yale graduation is it anything like the Chilton one, will Rory be valedictorian again, is that something that happens at Yale?

Can I politely ask why you don't want to watch it? Is it because Chris is there? Don't take this the wrong way at all, I'm just curious...

I wonder if Luke is going at to admit to/apologize for fighting with Christopher that night knowing that he's going to be there?

Anyone else see Christopher showing up to graduation with the nanny or someone?

THe mmetig between Chris, Luke and Lorelai will be interesting. And as long as Luke is there I don't mind Chris being at the graduation.
Rory is nontheless his daughter. He should be there (for Rory. THat at least he should do!)

Thanks for the thread, Mots.

Thanks for the new info, Sara.
Chris needs to be at his daughter's graduation, just like he should've been there for her HS one. I just hope Lorelai isn't all flirty and coy with him. On the other hand, I hope she's very comfortable with Luke being there.

I'm glad the graduation isn't the finale. They need the finale to give us a glimpse, even a tiny one, into the near or more distant future of these characters. I wonder if Christiane A. will possibly have something to do with Rory's post graduation work place/internship. Maybe she's accepted to CNN?

I'm feeling ambivalent about this hiatus. I want it to end, so I can finally watch the new episodes, while at the same time, I want to prolong it, when I think how those episodes are probably the last five ever. Anyone else feel something similar?
They should just make 7.22 last for 23 hours (no need to compete with 24)!

What exactly does that mean? Ausiello says he is attending the graduation with Lorelai, but he doesn't say that Lorelai forces him to go or that Rory gives him a guilt trip. For all we know he could plan to go himself. Ausiello makes sure to word things in the most jerky way possible to cause a reaction, we should all know that by now. And by saying they attend together, he got his reaction. Lorelai is also attending the graduation with Emily, Richard, and Luke too. So I don't see what the big deal is.

Hey, I don't take questions the wrong way. Unless they come from a hairy creature called a t****.

I'm racing out the door, but to try to answer - it's not really because Chris is there. I'd rather never see him again, I'll certainly never watch anything else DS is in, I can't stand that voice or that face any more - but we've known for ages that he'd turn up for her college graduation, and we'd have to put up with him.

I wish they'd written a story that let me feel glad for Rory that he's there. That story would show a father who can make his own way to his daughter's graduation, who can be there for her on his own, not only if Lorelai is there.

That's part of it. The other part is that I have no stomach left to see him with Lorelai. Even not dating (Worst.Joke.Ever).

Unlike many of you, I haven't enjoyed the last few episodes. I always expected to enjoy them, after Christopher was gone. Now - I don't like what he did to Lorelai, I don't like how he left her - what he turned her into, what she ended up as - I don't even like looking at her these days.

Someone said upthread that divorced parents can be in the same room, be at their kid's events, polite yet distant. And I think it was Ciaobella who said, some threads back, that divorced parents interact all the time without getting into each other's pants.

I hate to throw a further damper on it, but are Christopher and Lorelai even divorced yet? Someone should ask Ausiello. Like he'd know?

C/L simply isn't a story I have any interest in seeing any more of. Sorry, I'm rushed and trying to figure out the reasons. I think it's that simple. Their interactions sicken me. I don't need to watch Lorelai going with him or sitting next to him. It's not my idea of entertainment or good TV, unless "drama" means making you throw up.

Yeah, a show that turns a deadbeat into teflon dude who gets away with any and everything - not fun.

BTW. Don't know all the details for Yale, can't remember if their commencement is indoors but outdoors, but I know they need tickets either way. They've had security, everyone lines up to go through it, since 9/11. And I think undergraduates get 4 tickets? We could check, but what's the point of knowing more than the writers yet again?

Chris already told Lorelai he started a fight with Luke - I don't think Luke needs to bring it up. She barely had a reaction when Chris mentioned it so I doubt it will come up again. I would like for them to show Chris somewhat sheepish and uncomfortable when he sees Luke - his smguness finally erased for good - well, one can hope. He had always thought he was the one and now that he finally realizes he was not, I would like to see him somewhat uncomfortable when he sees that Luke is, in fact, "always been there, always will be"

But, man, I hope they don't have some talk between Chris and Luke to show Chris acknowledging Lorelai belong to Luke or whatever - that would just creep me out - just have them eye each other, maybe nod at one another and nothing more. Personally, I don't feel a need for Chris to acknowledge anything to Luke.

Yes. I feel like that all the time. I go through the "air them all at once because its the end anyway" to "I so don't want it to end so lets prolong it".. Sigh.. its a catch 22 situation for me.

Mots I so agree. I think its a good thing he is there. Why does the fact that he is there for his kid has to be made into a bad thing?? He was made into the bad guy for not being there at Rory's high School graduation and now he is there for her college graduation and its also a bad thing? I don't get it. He should be there.. As much as I dislike him its the right thing.

Caf Hee. No t**** here. And thanks for answering. I understand you; I just don't totally agree I guess I expect him to be there for his daughter and not Lorelai.. We'll have to see.

Since the Partings/Dopey fiasco, GG isn´t the same anymore. I can´t enjoy the show anymore (only Luke ), but seeing Lorelai alone makes me sick.....thats why a part of me wishes that this is the end....the other part wants to erase 6.10-7.14 and finally see that damn middle.....

I think the way Ausiello deliberately worded that answer has had the desired affect. Bravo Michael, bravo! You big tool!
