Seriously the hat sl doesn't make any sense. But i find it encouraging that he finds the black but doesn't want to wear it again. Let's hope that something happens in 7.20

It makes sense to me. Earlier on in the season he just replaced one black one with another. Now, he's actually willing to put the lorelai cap back on. That has to say something about how he feels in his relationship with Lorelai in ep. 20. If they weren't at a pretty good place, he would have went out and bought a new cap, rather than put one that reminds him of Lorelai on.

but still for me the fact that Dr prolonds LL getting back together says for next season
