She is the next Pussycat Doll! Duh.

Maybe she did make her decision earlier and the network is still working on LG to do it without her. I'd guess that they need the show and are willing to do it without Alexis. LG could just as easily be the holdout at this point. We don't really know what's going on.

But yeah, I agree, she should have made a decision earlier. I hate that everything is supposedly being stalled because of her... I just want to know for sure right now!! And please oh please let it be a YES

True, but we've heard reports that it's for sure because "Alexis has not made a decision yet" and because of that, LG is also balking in case she says no. Which I hope she doesn't. I wouldn't mind not having Rory, however if no Rory= no season 8, then I definitely want her to say yes!

AB must feel some powerful right now. To know she is the one holding up everyone's job and also to know that if she suddenly decides to sign, everyone who signed for a pilot has to forfeit their part and do GG. Either way, it's possible to ruins someone's day.

The tour guide we talked to, who was pretty in the know, said it was Alexis.
And after watching EH, I tend to think that that is the prevailing opinion and probably has some truth to it.
Of course, maybe Alexis did make her choice and they are on their knees still trying to get her back on board either partially or full time.
So.
Who knows indeed.

But it seems like those who do have pilots want to come back to GG if there is another season. Their pilots are just back-up plans. Just the way I see it, I don't think we've really heard otherwise.

All i really care about is the show continuing.. and if lauren is going to stick to not doing it without her, then i REALLY hope she says yes...

I don't think Ed Herrmann would have made his comments about AB not wanting to do another year and LG wanting to if it weren't true. He strikes me as a man with integrity and he has no reason to lie or spread rumors that aren't true in my opinion.

Thanks gjoni for the Ed link, can someone tell me more or do a quick TS, as the video is not working for me.

Maybe being 40 Lauren is over the hill LOL and wants to stick with GG for as long as she can, I just wonder if it would be enough to do a Rorylite or Roryfree season?

Yeah, but still they're all in limbo right now. It seems a bit unfair. They've signed for pilots because they aren't sure whether GG is coming back or not.

Anyway, we've been at this tree a thousand times in the last week and 1/2, but you think she/they could just make a decision. It's one more season, not a lifetime.

She attended NYU Film School for a year immediately before being cast as Rory. She did some modeling to help pay the bills. I think the best chance of her returning to the show would be to scale down her role and transition her to the writing/directing teams which is what she attended film school for.

Opening Credits...Lorelai, Luke, Lane, Sookie, Zach...Lorelai (again), Emily, Richard, Lorelai (again)

Heh. The show would be missing it's main premise if it tried to move on without a crucial lead character.

Will Rory be recast?

AB is young. I can understand her needing a break. One more year is not going to kill her though, and I'm sure she was offered a huge raise. There's no guarantee she'll ever be able to have a steady income again like she did the last seven years.
The other actors are older and realize how tough this business is . LG should have a heart to heart with her and explain it to her.

As was stated before, TPTB might be trying to convince LG to continue without her,
which is a whole nother can of worms.

No matter how in the know your tour guide was, I doubt he/she is privy to contract negotiations. I would say EH isn't privy to AB and LG's contract negotiations either. He said he wasn't sure AB wanted to act anymore, not that she was the holdout. Another possible scenario is that AB has said what it will take to keep her and the network has to decide whether it's worth it. I just think there's so many details involved in this type of negotiation that we will never come close to knowing that it's not fair to hang Alexis out to dry.

Why not and since one Gilmore girl is going to be a Danes soon into the next season the title wouldn't fit anymore anyways

Ship Rory off to Seattle and let her drop in from time to time. Works fine with me

they should offer part time with only phone in roles and if LG does want to do another year because its to her benefit good for her - she want the middle imo then l/l

AB will never work again probably with the attention this is getting diva
