I have no idea, I guess it depends on the deal worked out and how attached Lauren is to not doing it without Alexis.

lorelaisgirl we're get 18 live hours of F1 over 3 days. A bit better that the 2 or so hours we get for most of the season!

I think the contracts are signed with WB studio, not The CW.

they can sell it to another station, i wouldn't mind, they could even sell the rights to HBO and I would cheer for that

Well, I don't care either, as long as there is What to sell, meaning season eight!

Business wise, the studio knows another season is financially sound - syndication and DVD sales. I think what they'd get from the network is a fraction of future revenues off another season.

I don't think that they signed contracts. They just agreed that if there is another season then they would sign. It doesn't makes sense otherwise.

The contracts may only be valid if AB signs, we just don't know yet.

Yes the actors have contracts with the production company which then has a contract with the studio, which in turn has a contract with the network.

Or that's how I think it works, correct me if I'm wrong.

Scott and Co must have signed something already otherwise they could do their pilots in the fall. Their contracts say they have to do Gilmore girls if there is an 8th season. So those must be signed already.

Dunno why Alexis doesn't wanna come back...even for few episodes.IMO she isn't such a great actress and Hollywood wouldn't miss such great performances.We need S8,i refuse to belive i've watched this show for 7 year and have a rush series finale
