When I first started, they had avatars you could choose from if you didn't have enought posts yet. Like how FB has avatars you can choose from.

We don't know that for sure, why things stalled! We have no reason to think it was Alexis. It could be both of them for some reason. Lauren. Or Alexis.

So to pin it all on Alexis is unfair.

It's not cancelled officially. Things could turn around suddenly. And maybe we don't know the whole story.

And the only reason I think Alexis doesn't want to sign was because of the work. Being a television actress is hard. And lots of long, hard work. Its nothing compared to making movies. And her, being a young adult, would want to take it easy for a while. I won't blame her.

To pin it all on Alexis is fair, IMO. Pretty much all the usual rumor sources put it at her feet.

But OTOH, yes, we don't know the whole story -- we just know enough of it to know that Alexis is the primary problem. We know that Lauren made that unity vow in her interview last fall with Ausiello -- if she goes, I go -- but we also know that Lauren is more amenable to coming back than Alexis is.

Lauren could conceivably change her mind and decide to do the show without Alexis anyway and that might be what the network/studio might be concentrating on now. Maybe she even feels trapped by that unity vow and just needs to be coaxed into a reason for it. But *that's* speculation.

What we do know are these things:

1) Alexis is the primary hold out. That's been consistent in all of the media reports, not just the rumors -- and it's something that even Milo spoke about as early as last summer.

2) Lauren is more amenable to staying. The producer credit is part of that mostly successful attempt to get her to stay with the series. Her only real sticking point seems to be that unity vow that she made in print and online last fall to TVG online.

3) Negotiations are definitely getting down to the wire -- some actors are trying to get second position jobs for pilot season (MM and MC), but one critical actor (SP) has reportedly signed back onto the show, even with his reported tendency to sign *only* year-to-year contracts.

4) Veronica Mars was cancelled and then uncancelled. Kristin V. had *six* sources for the report that she later retracted when she interviewed Rob Thomas while another website (Moviehole.net) had reported that Tina Majorino had announced that the show had been cancelled -- a report that was also retracted but at the moment can still be seen at comingsoon.net.

5) Ausiello *then* posted a report in which he appears to believe that VM's fate is being pitted against Gg's. That's the most interesting bit of information that ties everything else together. Maybe VM *will* get renewed if Gg ends just because there would be too many holes in the schedule to fill, but I figure that 7th Heaven would get uncancelled yet again before VM would get renewed -- and I'm willing to bet that the 7H people have been told not to strike the sets after wrapping their season finale and maybe even to prepare to reshoot any part of the season finale that would have to be undone for it to go for another season. And I shudder at that thought, BID. 7H does get better ratings (nearly a million more viewers even now) than VM does. It's the safer bet for renewal, IMO.

But for the sake of argument, let's say that VM's fate *is* tied to Gg's fate -- Gg lives, VM dies. Why put the VM fans through all of this, anyway -- especially those of us that are fans of BOTH series? (and although I have major reservations about RT's massive limitations as a showrunner, I like VM). I certainly don't want to be on edge about both shows. They're half of my WB viewing schedule (the other half being Smallville and Supernatural). IF VM's fate is tied to Gg's, then it's clear that Ausiello is correct and the network/studio is using VM's fate to pressure the holdout(s) on Gg to come back to the negotiation table (if it's AB) or to reconsider her only sticking point (if it's that LG won't do the show without AB but otherwise wants to continue doing the show).

Or, at the very least, the network/studio wants to create the *appearance* of tying VM's fate to Gg's in order to apply that pressure onto Gg without actually applying it onto VM. VM's fate *either way* might have nothing to do with Gg's fate -- likely has nothing to do with Gg's fate, IMO -- except that RT might be playing along to help the network/studio out as a favor. Maybe RT got VM uncancelled simply by playing along, maybe VM is cancelled, but he got a committment from them for his next project. Or maybe VM *is* cancelled regardless of Gg's fate and they just haven't told RT anything in order to confuse who ever the holdout(s) on Gg is/are.

IMO, the most likely scenario from the above is that VM has been cancelled regardless of Gg's fate and RT is playing dumb as a favor to help the network out on the Gg situation. Pulling the cancellation at the last minute does also open up the slight opportunity that VM could be uncancelled if the 7H peeps don't want to do that show for another year.

In any case, there's still two months 'til the Upfronts to cancel and uncancel anything, barring any offical announcements.

Yeah, Sandlynn, I'm the one who said that if Gg ends this season, AB's career is over. I stand by that opinion -- IMO she lacks both the breadth and width of talent that Lauren has, no matter how much I like AB as an actress. And moreover, look at how hard a time, say, the waaaay-more-talented Kristen Bell is having with not just movies, but keeping her own television series afloat. Sure, Bledel may need a vacation, but it's hard enough to make the transition to movies as it is, carrying around the perception that you're the one responsible for ending one of the most critically acclaimed shows of this decade isn't going to do much for her movie career.

ETA -- And, to try to keep this post on-topic: And that she'll be perceived to be the reason that the Lor-Luke storyline ended prematurely certainly won't help her, either.

So Luke finds his blue cap, the question is where was it. We know why but we don't know the details about the CD black cap, maybe it was a sign and more than a new cap. Defenders caps, maybe it was a defence mechanism against the pain of the break up and black to represent his dark time without Lorelai.

Now where did he keep the cap and what is the back story for the black one, did he take April to a ball game at some point and she got him the cap, then the fight/break up happened and he switched caps.

I know we may never get answers for these questions but we can hope.

...and what will Lorelai think if the black cap was from April and he goes back to the blue one, will this have an impact on Lorelai, a sign she comes first and not April when it comes to them?

Craig, I don't think that all the details about the cap will happen. I don't think we have enough time in the last three eps to spend so much time on an object. If anything, I'd love a "It was just too hard to put in on every day and remember you."

I wonder if Luke putting on the blue cap will mainly be for us, the fans. Or will it be clear that Luke's making a statement to her, and will we see Lorelai realizing what he's saying by it and will it actually impact LL?

Well it don't have to be a big long thing Katie and scene with Luke just showing up to the singing thing (what even that is) with the blue cap might be all we get. IMO it's for the fans and Lorelai. DSR took it off for us, Lorelai has yet to make comment about it, either to Luke or anyone. He knows it's history which is good and I hope he treats it right in ep 20.
