I've enjoyed this season. I have no problem with L&L getting back together. They both made mistakes and now they are working their way back to each other because they just have 'it'. They are both old enough to know that what they had and both still want, is too special to let go. They let it slip away once because they were both stupid and now they will embrace it because they cannot live without it.

I feel you. It's just that what's done is done. The scars are permanent. We can't change what happened, and I don't think anything Lorelai could say would make these last several months worth anything. I really don't. All that's left is to look forward to the future and hope that Lorelai will grow-up. Even if it's just a little bit.

ETA: I agree, Cheryl. I honestly think we're expecting too much.

Luke said it's not anyone else's relationship, it's his and Lorelai's. They will do what is right for them.

90% OT by I have to ask: regarding this tv show of Melissa MCcarthy: who gets paid to come up with this ****??!! I see "BOMB" written all over this one - can even the greatest writer alive make this interesting or funny for more than 3-4 episodes??? No wonder we love GG so much, warts and all. It's Shakespeare compared to this folderol!

9? That the planetarium one? The problem was too much subtlety, I guess. I really never saw anything other than typical newlywed adjustment problems, as I have said before. And I didn't say that the CL show was right. What I meant is, sometimes, despite thinking a sl is total bull****, you just have to accept it. Under that category falls Lorelai and romance. I expect I'll feel differently once the show comes back. I am just feeling all annoyed with this storyline right now, because I feel like last year shouldn't have happened, considering I never expected a season 8 and thinking that even the last minute R/Ring of L/L is probably too soon for them to be together, based on where they seemed to be when we went on break.

I think that after over 6 years of Amy's voice on the show, it's difficult NOT to expect a lot from the show. Amy spoiled us with good dialog, witty lines and intelligent thought. Rosenthal? Not so much. It was difficult to get into the first part of the season because when the girls opened their mouths, all that was said was "blah, blah, blah... I love pink" It took a while to lower our standards and finally we reached a mid-point where Rosenthal's staff wrote better and the fans expected less.

I will not get excited about the up-coming episodes because it is what it is. I will lower or increase my excitement level for each episode 'after' the hour passes.

This of course is my opinion.

I'm hoping that the talk L/L have at the end of 7.18, will give us some explanation of why Lorelai slept with Christopher etc. If it doesn't, then I will be disapointed. I want a long heart to heart between L/L so we can have some closure to the whole L/C debacle. Then we can all move forward.

I am still going to keep my optimism for season 8. We desperately need it.

I believe Lorelai married Christopher in order to validate her sleeping with him.
I also think that will be the validation in Luke's mind, so they can get back together. Lorelai knew Luke would never forgive her for what she did, so she had to take it all the way. After she did, I think she realized what a terrible mistake she made but she "wanted the whole package" and knew she had no chance with Luke so she tried to make it work with Christopher.

I agree that Luke will probably just forgive Lorelai, as Lorelai has forgiven Luke for his mistakes, that's the impression I already have of their current friendship, in HBM this will be said out loud for the first time IMO so they both know where they stand, then they can move on, Lorelai goes to the diner and asks Luke for help car shopping and with luck Luke asks for help also for something, maybe April related to show he is now more open with her. IMO he has been open ever since the party in SCPP.

That being said I hope the stuff in HBM better explains Lorelai's actions over the last year, maybe. Lorelai telling Luke she didn't want to say something in fear of losing him like in SS and Luke saying he thought he was doing the right thing and didn't realize how he was hurting her. Neither laying blame right now is the only way to move forward.

As for the dress in S6, I didn't mid it and it would take a lot worse to even try and make her look ugly. But I'm thinking something backless and more simple and less traditional for their wedding.

ETA - something like this dress looks very Lorelai to me.

I found that ASP's desire to have witty and clever dialog often came at the expense of good, consistent story arcs and plotting. And overall, I liked Dan's "voice" more. I think he had less spark than Amy, but more heart.

Well for me Lorelai is just destroyed - thanks to Amy by letting her jump that idiot. Everything Rosie did to her character was just - well so what she has lost it anyway. Honestly that woman doesn't deserve anyone anymore after that. She should have stick to Mr. Too Stupid for this World because they so deserve each other and my first thought after Partings was: I hope she gets pregnant again from that loser.

Yeah Amy did a wonderful job of breaking my JJ heart and nothing will EVER be the same for me. That's the reason why I can't watch any episodes from the past anymore. Lorelai just disgusts me whenever she is going to Luke her "best" friend seeking for comfort, safety and what not. Nice way to treat your best friend when he doesn't jump if you want him to

Sure Luke was no angle concerning April and how he handled the situation but that guy was never a kids guy and he was only open to that topic to the one person he saw himself having kids with and then all of a sudden he has a turtle. I'm glad something like that can't happen to me cause I would know if I pushed a human being out of me. I don't want to have kids and I give anyone a jam hands rant out of nowhere if the kids topic comes up so I know how Luke must have felt when he got the news. I can sympathize with him but what Lorelai did was just beyond me and I never thought she would do something like that. When I saw 6.10 and heard Chis' I want to take care of YOU, you and Rory my stomach just turned up side down and I felt sick but I thought: No way is Amy going to to something like that. I knew it right there and then but I dismissed it, I just didn't want to listen to my gut feeling - well we all know how that turned out

I've just gotten so frustrated with how everything CL from like ep. 3-15 was handled and continues to be handled. I agree with Ciao that "it wasn't right" doesn't even begin to make the whole Christopher marriage worth it from a "Lorelai's Journey" outlook. Why wasn't it right? I've been hoping we'll get something deeper from her about how she felt about everything since Partings or even since French Twist, and her explaining what she's realized... but my expectations on that front are so low.

I used to be able to make these big long posts about why Lorelai was doing what she was doing, and make sense of it all. But it's like I can't anymore. I can't even get into Lorelai's head because I haven't understood a single thing she's done for months now.
