| Thanks Tara Ashley for the tour info. Interesting stuff about the scene Sookie, Jackson, Lorelai, and Paul Anka on Lorelai's porch and I agree the balloons were probably the 150th party. So are they on ep 20 and Lorelai singing ep now? __________________ Mythbusters - "I reject your reality and substitute my own." | Oh my where to start ![]() Thanks for all the tour reports and car pictures and spoilers and AA and whatever I missed to mention ![]() I'm not worried about MM. Her role was so small this season she can do other stuff besides GG. __________________ “I don’t get it.” - “I know. That’s why you’re hopping.” | |||

| Morning all Thanks for the new info. Too bad LL don't reconcile in 7.19. I had this scene in my head of them kissing after the fight. __________________ Luke:"It’s like my life isn’t even real to me unless you’re there, and you’re in it, and I’m sharing it with you." | Much appreciated: Mots for the second tour info and new DF/Lorelai car pics - looks pretty .... big; Gemini for bringing AA over; everydaykristen for bringing over the MM casting info; Tara for the tour reports! (sounds like you had some great fun and memories to last, despite feeling CIP stigmatized, lol). Copperboom and dreamslut (haha, oy with the water bottle, already!) for extra info. If this is the end of the series, wouldn't it make more sense to announce it already, to get the buzz and deserting fans to come back and tune in for the episodes, even to catch up on reruns? *shrugs* ETA - Akarana - go to the Ausiello report (LINK), scroll down a bit and find the piece about the BFF (best female friend) MIA, then read the comments, and you'll get the picture. __________________ the CANOE and the KAYAK Sign Petition For More Gilmore Girls Last edited by gjoni : 03-14-2007 at 01:01 AM. | |||

| dreamslut well my SPEC on the doll house is just as crazy as some of yours. What if the car sales person is a pretty lady. Luke flirts with her to get a good price and when they get back to the CS they fight and Lorelai takes it out on the doll house. Do we know if we see the new car in 19 or not until 20? __________________ Mythbusters - "I reject your reality and substitute my own." | What's the dollhouse doing by the Gilmore mansion? (please bear with me - I have no mental picture of where the sets are and how close to each other, etc.) Maybe Emily asks for it back, and Lorelai gets so upset that after bringing it over, she throws one of Emily's Molotov Mocktails at it. Being that it's only a MOCKtail, it only partially destroys the DH. __________________ the CANOE and the KAYAK Sign Petition For More Gilmore Girls | |||

I looked around before and found his article. But is the vodcast up yet when he wants to clarify? (If he really does...) Oh and somehow I am still hoping that LL will get back together in 7.19, despite what Ausiello said. I mean, they don't need get back together OFFICIALLY, as long as they get back together... ![]()

But I'm afraid they could make a "will they or won't they?" cliffhanger if there is a S8 (which I REALLY hope for!) __________________ Luke: Get out, Taylor. Taylor: Why? Luke: It's just a code I live by. avatar by Polly

| I'm thinking we may not have them together until 21 now, but if we get S8 it will be worth it. I don't get the whole BFF (best female friend) MIA thing, I went to the link but it doesn't make sense to me (HELP). I hope we get more info soon. __________________ Mythbusters - "I reject your reality and substitute my own." | Okay, I lurk on and off about every three months or so, and maybe a few people recognize my handle from either Kristin's (okay, Wrongda's) old real-time chats at E! or from Usenet's alt.tv.gilmore-girls, where I'm keeper of the increasingly long FAQ and where I'm cranky and swear a lot -- that's the upside to Usenet -- downside: Spammers, newbies and trolls, but I like to swear a lot, which is why I've generally only lurked here -- but the whole question of the meaning of the dollhouse and its destruction over the past few pods of the LL discussion just motivated me to add my comments: 1) The dollhouse has always been a direct symbolic reference to Henrik Ibsen's play The Doll House (or The Doll's House or A Doll's House or A Doll House, depending on the translation -- Ibsen was Scandanavian). Check the play out -- the ending of it very much resembles both Lorelai walking out on Emily at 17 and Lorelai walking out on Luke at the end of Partings. Welcome to the Doll House, both the indie movie *and* the Gg episode are also specific references to the Ibsen play. I think it's safe to say that the dollhouse represents Lorelai's (Nora's) very rigid, synthetic childhood under Emily's Torvald-ish thumb and likewise her walking out on both of them represents the ending of different parts of her childhood. Thus, the damage to the dollhouse represents part of that. JM2C. 1a) Rory is Lorelai's attempt to, metaphorically speaking, give Emily a new doll for her dollhouse. But that's a lot harder to explain, so I won't go into it. 1b) There's a very cool 50's song that I think represents what Lorelai was feeling during Partings -- Buddy Holly's hit "It Doesn't Matter Anymore," which was written by -- ta daaaa! The Real Paul Anka. Try it. I suspect it's the song that inspired ASP to bring Paul Anka in in the first place. Well, that and "Puppy Love.," 2) MM being cast in another show is clearly a case of CYA, just as MC and DSR are doing. She's obviously contracted to Gg, of course, so that pilot would be in "second position" for claim on MM, same way that Lauren was in second postion for Gg due to her committment back then to the show MYOB (whose six episodes I wish could be a set of Easter Eggs on a Gg DVD set). 3) SP's negotiations are especially encouraging because from what I understand, he *only* signs one contracts. I think the pilot he was up for this month still would have been in second postion to Gg. Or he was treating it as second position to Gg. Aaaanyway, IMO, if he were to ever leave before the show ends, it probably wouldn't be the show's fault. 4) It sounds to me like since they're having a relatively simple cake party for episode 150, they're either saving the big party for a combo Lauren/Yanic party on Friday or else for the season wrap party, since it's so close. OTOH, they might be the types to take any excuse to party. 5) Tara Ashley and Mots (and anyone else who took the tour recently that I might have forgetten): Thanks for the tour info. I took the studio tour twice in 2004. Saw the Yale set up close. Got my picture with Lorelai's mailbox. Ohh, the couple of stories I could tell from those two tours. But the pertinent one regarding a possible s8 is this: My second tour was in August of 2004 (I was about to move from San Diego to central MO and wanted to get another tour in before I got out of driving distance). Our tour guide was the head tour guide -- and he broke to us that it looked at that point like s5 was going to be the end of Gg because Lauren had been getting sooooo many more attractive movie offers due to her turn in Bad Santa (must. get. the director's cut.) and was in heated renegotiations of her contract. Wrongda, of course, was her usual out-of-touch-ish self when she heard that information and doing somewhere around January-ish of 2005 the same sort of Chicken Little declarations that she's doing now -- and we then found out from Ed Herrmann in an interview with her in March 2005 that the show had been renewed and that the gals were signed for 2 more years. What we then found out in the general press as a result of Lauren's 2-year deal was that she got her production company -- a deal within the deal that expires when the show expires -- and accomodation of her schedule to do movies like BISS and the upcoming Evan Almighty. (I still wanna know when The Amateurs/The Moguls is coming out on DVD. Grr! Argh!) Lauren has had a LOT of incentive to stay with the show for s8 all along. It could be that the studio was working us, figuring that someone would post the news to a MB somewhere or to atgg and thereby put a little bit of unofficial pressure on LG. it's likely that the ongoing unofficial news about AB being the holdout is the same sort of thing -- it's a pretty strong and credible rumor at this point, IMO -- but OTOH, just because she's holding out doesn't mean that she's sick of the show. The CW's schedule has been in so bad a shape since *before* the merger -- the WB always having Sundays and Thursdays as problem nights and UPN being an overall disaster any way -- that even a blind person could see even at the beginning of the season that the CW could hardly afford to lose any other series with Reba officially in its last season, 7H a likely goner even before the season premiere, Sundays at 9pm being a black hole and Veronica Mars being a huge question mark. So I strongly suspect from over here in the peanut gallery of central MO that AB got some really bad advice from her agents in taking a hard stance in negotiations. It just reads so blatantly to me as a salary push, even going back to when Milo spoke out of turn at the TCAs last summer. Since I trust Sassypaws's reports so far, I'm willing to bet that what's happening is that AB is either haggling with the network over salary and/or number of episodes she wants to be in and/or, like Lauren did between s4 and s5, negotiating for them to work around her likely desire to do more movies. Seems to me that that's why Sassypaws' news is so optimistic -- if AB were totally intending to leave and not just playing hardball, they just would have announced the end of the show months ago and just hid any explanation under LG's solidarity vow. There was just nothing for AB to gain by stalling if she didn't want to actually return to the show in some capacity if salary isn't the issue. Everyone's so skittish because AB's game of hardball is so obvious and I think so badly played, but heck, at least AB hasn't even followed in SMG's footsteps and unceremoniously announced the fate of her show on the cover of Entertainment Weekly. -- Rob | |||

| Well, well, well The big bad Rob. Welcome. Are things that borning on the usenet? Nice article. As always, I get a little dizzy reading your "books", but this time you had some good points. Especially about AB. __________________ I love Valérie. She's does it with a French accent. ![]() RON | |||
