IMO with the changes we have seen with Emily I don't think she will say much or be shocked, she may question if it was the reason for the divorce but I think she'll be on Lorelai's side, same for Richard. I don't think they'll be all swooning over Luke like they were with Chris but I doubt they will be mean to him.

I just hope at some point Lorelai comes clean and tells her parents the reason she broke up with Luke, 'cause right now I get the impression that they think he left her, and maybe for someone else.

I would like Emily to go to Lorelai and say look he loves you , you love him go to him tell him sort this out you have my blessing. Similar to what she did to Luke in S-GT.

She may never feel Luke is good enough but she will see that he is the only man that has made her daughter truely happy and the one that has always been there for the Gilmores, all of them at some time and that will do a lot for the acceptance in Emily.

Thanks for the thread, Mots - although I'm very late and we are now more than halfway through it.

And thanks to everyone who brought over information. I'm hoping we will get more/solid answers in the next few days (too hopeful?).

I'm LOVING the idea of a "good" fight. As others have said, banter is LL's thing. Sometimes it's a little more - arguing - and sometimes it's a little less, but it's always great. I'm getting really excited for this.

And I guess this is obvious, but just to clarify, we are relatively certain that there is the "pivotal" discussion with the apologies in 7.18 and then a fight in 7.19, right? It's not just 1 discussion/fight? Because as long as it goes according to that set up - it sounds great. It would seem that after the discussion in 7.18 it brings LL back to a place where they can be open and honest with each other - which brings about their fight.

IMO I would much rather have them fight a "good" fight then have them simply be civil to each other. In a fight we will see that the feelings are still there. Awesome.

Well, Emily was also the one who said that Lorelai could marry again someday. I think that they had come around to accepting Luke pre-Partings. Now, Emily was aware of his helpfulness at the hospital and just might be willing to give him another chance. Either that, or Lorelai will get back together with Luke anyway, and not tell her parents before they have to accept it. But it seems like that won't be the option, since Lorelai was supposed to have learned something on this journey of hers

Whatever happens, I still think at least Emily needs to know the truth behind Partings, but I'm not sure if that will happen.

I´ve got two little things to put in here too.

1.) My idea how the dollhouse gets smashed. Maybe it happens right the minute Lorelai is holding the divorce papers in hand that the flatscreen falls over and by a freak accident lands right smack ontop of the dollhouse.
Now wouldn´t that be a sign ??

I'm still wondering if the car shopping is what it seams. What is it was mean to be "car, shopping" meaning they went shopping then had a fight in the car? As to why they would go shopping together I have no idea, it's as big a mystery as to why would they be "car shopping" together, guess we'll find out more in AA.
