Here's a random spec about the car shopping. Maybe Lane and Zach are going car shopping and Lane wants Lorelai's help and Zach wants Luke's help so they both end up there car shopping with them.

With a baby they definitely would need another car. They would probably exchange Lorelai's jeep, because Luke needs the truck for the diner, transporting stuff, etc.

But I don't know any reason why LL should suddenly decide to go car shopping together. MA was really confusing

I partly agree but I don't know if Luke needs his truck for the diner, he gets all his supplies sent to him and he doesn't do deliveries that require that much space. So for me and the current SL it make more scene that he is getting a safer car, something to tow the boat for the trip he is planing with April.

Lorelai is not in a family mode right now so unless the Jeep dies I don't see her replacing it soon.

OT - did Lorelai do a "tongue roll" when signing Mia's guest book?

That could work. That or someone of the two has a minor accident and decides to change the car.

I have to agree. I cannot recall an episode when Luke needed a truck for his own convenience. Lorelai needed the truck for moving Rory's stuff, Stars Hollow/Taylor needed it with the canon ball,.... but never Luke.

But nontheless I don't want Luke to give up his truck. They already changed Luke so much this season, I don't want any more changes. Luke needs to keep his truck!

This is kinda stupid but since we've been talking Luke's Truck, it's helped me remember that he drives a stick shift...and well I know you'll think I'm 6, but Luke's Stick...just cracks me up.

Being from Iowa, you do the same. You just keep driving your car until the wheels fall off. Luke does love that truck. I don't really see a reason for him to get a new car unless it really is completely dead.

I would say it's Lorelai getting a new car. I love the Jeep and I think it would be sad if she got a new car, but maybe she thinks it's time. The Jeep is probably the only car she's ever owned and maybe she finally has it paid off. Maybe she wants to go more fancy and fun.. less 17 year old girl, ya know?

I can see her asking Luke to come along with her to give advice. She wouldn't want Richard because he'd drive her crazy and who else is she going to ask? It'd be a nice way for them to spend some friend time together and get caught up. It also gives them a chance to banter and get into that comfortable zone. And then they can argue and get everything out into the open. Maybe Lorelai will go on about how she needs a bigger car with this accessory and this and this, and Luke goes on and on about how it's too fancy and unnecessary. Finally she blows up and says if they ever plan to have kids, they need a better car. Luke is stopped cold in his tracks and we fade to commerical... of course.

Well Lorelai learnt to love Luke's stick and drove it more than once

What if Luke gets a new truck, twincab with 4 doors so the baby can go in the back

I wonder if he gets an automatic this time some Lorelai can dive it more easily
