I think my all time favorite line.. or one that ranks really really hight up there.. is "You can stir coffee with a stick, but you can't drive a stick." One of ABs best deliveries. Just a great line.

Just, I have two midterms on Wednesday that I should be studying for...I feel ya. But three days until freedom

And Katie, I posted my thoughts on DR writing 7.18 on the MT (though I think I'm going to take a little vaca from the MT) that basically said I was excited and yet worried. This convo will essentially measure the rest of LL this season. This scene is DR's "answer" to our big "HUH?" this season. What if it doesn't fly with us?

I don't know. I am nervous about it, because I remember how dickish I found Luke to be in SCPP. (That shopping scene? Oy.) Nervous.

And I don't really want to discuss the whys or wherefores of the MT, but I was wondering, if the MT gets shut down, do the shipper threads stay? (I wasn't around last time the boards were shut down.) Just a yes or no would do.

They were shut down the last time, but I'm not sure what they would do this time around.

I share your concern there. I don't have much of any expectations for that scene as far as specific things I want. But there is just a level it'll have to be at to make it worth our time and to start to move LL on from the mess of eps. 3-14. It just needs to feel right and real and sincere, and if it doesn't, well, I'm just hoping that it does.

And how long were they shut down? And what happens afterwards? I'm new enough not to have experienced it before... I hope people on the MT don't ruin it for all of us

There's a reason I personally stay away from it...

ETA: Can DSR do it? I have no idea. SCPP was written weird for Luke, but I liked the way Lorelai was written. I'm hoping since he's supposedly the brains of the show at this point that what he writes moves things along nicely. And by nicely I mean LL together SOON and NOT last-minute!! I think he can do it... I think

IMO, DR could have done it, but he ruined a lot by keeping the LC crap for too long......

I think the threads were shut down for about a week or so if I remember correctly.

Well IMO he did a great job with SCPP, and then he had ASP looking over his shoulder!

IA. I'll just hope that it does too......what did GG say, "cautiously optimistic"?? I like that!
