LORELAI, RORY AND EMILY TAKE A ROAD TRIP - Lorelai plans a road trip to North Carolina to attend the wedding of Mia (guest star Kathy Baker), the woman who took in Lorelai and Rory (Alexis Bledel) and served as a surrogate mother/grandmother for many years. Rory has a fight with Logan over his immature reaction to his business disaster, and agrees to go on the trip with Lorelai. Emily invites herself along in an effort to get away from Richard, who is driving her crazy while he recuperates at home. At the wedding, Emily is upset by the close relationship Mia shares with Lorelai and Rory. Lorelai learns that Emily came to see Mia five years earlier to ask for pictures of Lorelai and Rory during the years they were estranged. Logan makes a surprise appearance and asks Rory to forgive him. Meanwhile, Lane and Zach ask Luke to be the godfather to their twins. Finally, Lane goes into labor and Luke helps get everyone to the hospital.

TV Guide: After Rory has a fight with Logan, she decides to go to North Carolina with Lorelai for Mia's wedding, and Emily, who craves a break from needy Richard, decides to drive them so she can go to a nearby spa. Meanwhile, Zack and Lane, who's about to give birth soon, invite Luke to dinner, and Zack begins to lean on Luke for advice on being a father. Mia: Kathy Baker

Just bringing this over because I made a real post in the midst of all the bumping

I don't see why R/L breaking up messes a lot of things up. I'll keep my thoughts about them as a couple to myself, but I don't see how them breaking up affects LL or whether or not we get a season 8. I still think things are looking positive for a season 8, and even if R/L break up, I don't understand why that has so much of an effect on LL. I think they can end it with LL together, on their way to completely mending their relationship and also have Rory single... maybe her and Paris embark on some adventure? As much as I enjoy the Rory/Lorelai relationship, there comes a time when a kid needs to spread her wings, do her own thing, and venture out of the nest... I think if LL are together and Rory is single, it would be the perfect time to do so (and still be able to keep the mother-daughter bond as well). JMO though.

If the RL spoiler is true it's another indication for getting another season - at least for me. If this is the last season they would keep them together. No need in breaking them up but if they break them up that leads to new things, new storylines, a new season.
Same goes for Luke and Lorelai. Ending in a good place can mean anything. That leaves so much open for another season - ok not really because after the ending we will all know where the next one is heading at
