LL can be as happy as ever - but again I stress that the writing is what has been missing throughout the season. There's no "oomph" anymore - no intelligent conversations, no pop-culture references (that aren't obvious).

7.14 was probably the best this season has/had to offer - but one major point is that there was a lot of Chris in it, and two very touching seconds of Luke. We don't know what the future holds - we don't know if Rosenthal & Co. are cut out for writing a believable Luke & Lorelai. And this is why I'm unsure of a S8. I can only foresee a whole lot of complaining amongst the fans for half a season.

BTW, I am doing a S5 marathon during my spare time at home. I did not realize that it can go so quick if I just fast forward through the non LL stuff.

I did them a lot last year. You can get through a lot pretty quickly that way.

I liked TWYGFFMW, good acting and great last scenes and probably the last ep until 14 to make any sense, just a pity DSR lied when Luke ask to go back to what they had and Lorelai hasn't been to the diner still!

When did Luke ask to go back to the way things were? That is not all how I interpreted the, "I'll just go back to being the guy that pours your coffee." (If that is what you are referring to.)

I think Lancer is taking it to mean literally.

It is sort of like they are back to being friends - as Luke said in the kitchen, "We're just friends. That's it." or something. They aren't as close as they use to be when they were friends - but given the circumstances, that's understandable.

It's just what he said (which was IMO is DSR talking) that he should go back to being the coffee guy and Lorelai the customer, still waiting for that to happen in Luke's, we had a taste of that with Sookie bring the coffee to Lorelai and then Luke bringing the food to the hospital but it was only a tease and we are still waiting. Just like all the anvils last week with L&L and this week a promo that looks like Lane is gonna pop!

yeah I thought that was a pretty nasty comment actually, saying that they meant absolutely nothing to each other on a personal level. I wouldn't be jumping to make that statement come true.

I didn't take it be a nasty comment, I saw it more as a sad sign of what Luke thought he meant to her. And even with the letter, I don't think he's realized that he was much more than just the guy that poured her coffee for those first 8 years of their friendship.

I also think that we the last mention of ep. 2 that RRK put in (the Liz reasonings in ep. 15), that there might be a good shot that the grocery scene will come up again, since they haven't forgotten about ep. 2 yet. (though they did apparently forget about SS and WITS and the car scene in Partings)

I didn't see it as nasty, at that point he thought he has lost Lorelai and wanted something back, maybe to erase the last 2 years, he was just trying to hold on to something from the past.

Luke was not out to hurt Lorelai in that scene, he did that in the street, he was not assigning blame, not even blaming Lorelai for sleeping with Chris. I still wonder does Luke know the full story that in Parting was their first time or at some point did he (or does he) still think they had been together several times?

That's one of your specs that makes much sense craig. But i don't think we will see it answered.

Yep we still have NOTHING on ep 150 and later this week we should gets sides (or the list) for 151 ep 7.20.

As for Luke knowing the whole truth, ITA it will probably never come up unless Lorelai says something in the sorry speech which I doubt. Just like the letter and other things I think it will be dropped. I just hope that we find out what happened with the boat but I doubt that will be covered either.

Remember when DSR did explain some things, what happened to that?

With such vague answers as "It's not meant to be" or "It just wasn't right" you'd think that DR was writing for the Others.

I really hope we get some substance in ep. 18, so real words about what went wrong and how they fell/felt about that.
