I'd rather watch that drama onscreen than the C-L show. Even if the misguided writers somehow believed it had to happen, whatever possessed them to think we actually wanted to see the gory details?

"Gilmore Girls" (8 p.m., WKBD-TV, Channel 50, CW). Is Rory's (Alexis Bledel) journalism career elevator taking a quick trip to the penthouse? She gets an interview with the New York Times. Back home in Stars Hollow, trouble magnet Lorelai (Lauren Graham) is caught in the middle of a family feud between Lane (Keiko Agena) and her extremely cranky mother. Zip it, Lorelai.
Hee! I've thought for ages that the title would refer to Lorelai-as-mother - either the way she raised Rory, or that she raised Rory so differently from her parents' wishes - somehow that would tie in with the Lane/Mrs Kim disagreement about how to rear Lane's twins.

Never posted about it out of sheer cowardice. Eh. Nice to see it wasn't just me. Could still be wrong of course. Or the title could merely be about Lorelai talking too much - when it doesn't matter, of course. Heaven forbid she should open her mouth when there's something worth saying.

If it is in relation to Lane/Mrs. Kim, it almost sounds like the kind of thing Zach would say when he is talking Lane down from a freak out. Goofy and sweet. Of course, the fact that they chose a line that is so closely related to Luke's line at the beginning of the season will irritate me, if it is about Lorelai, the Mom.

Oooh, Chinese food. That sounds like a nice meal to have since it's just me at home watching tonight.

Ya know, I'm kind of amused, at least at myself. Tonight is the first episode where Rory seemingly has a decent storyline. She's got this huge interview with New York Times, something we've all been wanting for her since the show premiered. We wanted her to get that dream. But now, at least for me, it's not even interesting. And that is very, very sad. And also, this is the first time in forever that Lorelai has hung out with the townies as a townie herself, ya know? No Christopher. No false Lorelai. It's Lorelai with the town, which is something else I've wanted forever and now it's like "eh." I'm not excited about either of the two things I was hoping would happen this season.

Or a boat?

I'm thinking the title is something Lane says to Mrs Kim. Maybe Lane offends Mrs Kim by singing Lorelai's praises as a mother, party planner, whatever, and it's Lane's way of making up with her, or bringing her around. Or maybe Mrs Kim is envious of the way Lane 'connects' to supermom Lorelai, and it's Lane's way of letting Mrs Kim know she's not so bad as a mom herself, and that she really does want her help with the babies.

I'm feeling like the boat thing has to somehow play in with LL. Seriously, the only thing that comes to mind for me with the boat is LL. Lorelai doesn't have to talk about it with Luke, or anything, but I just hope that they (the writers) make a note of how the boat meant something LL related and don't just try to ride it off as something just about Luke and April.

I'm so curious at the moment about how Luke got the boat back. If he took it out of Lorelai's garage like in season 5 or if she brought it to him or if he asked her when he can pick it up but I guess those questions will never be answered

Did we speculate about that already - can't remember but maybe Lorelai spots the boat while getting Lane from her place to the baby shower ? I mean they are running through town and all of a sudden she sees the boat in front of the diner and stops. A bit shocked and then she catches Luke's eye or something through the diner window.

Yeah, I just hope they remember the history with the boat and that Lorelai owns it. I think that could be interesting if she finds out that Luke is selling it and she tells him he can't because it's her boat.

I know I'm not interested in Rory's interview because it doesn't feel like she's earned it. She took a semester off school and last summer as well and now is all caught up, with very little effort or attention. We never see her in class (except for Richard's heart attack ep) and haven't seen her studying in ages. There have been very few school related storylines this year. When she was at Chilton, we knew when she was doing well, when she was struggling, so we could cheer for her to do well. Now it all just seems to be handed to her.

I don't think Lorelai sees the boat as hers. She bought it for Luke and it was clear that it was his. She didn't say it was her boat when Luke took it out of her garage in season 5. But I think she will be kind of shocked because she saw how bad Luke was on his dark day and what the boat meant to him because of his dad. Now he is just going to sell it and I can even imagine her blaming herself for it. The boat holds memories of her now as well and maybe she thinks he's going to get rid off it because of her and what they once had.
I can even see her going into the diner and yelling at Luke: How can you sell the boat. It means too much to you. It was your dad's. You can't sell it.

Don't forget the fact that Paris is the one who made her apply for all the stuff in the first place.

Here's an interview with Lauren from EW . Nothing spoilery for GG, but fun. Her production company logo is her grandmother playing basketball.

Well, it isn't like they are calling Rory in to be a columnist or something. I think it is just an informational interview. And I am not surprised they would let the editor of the YDN have an interview. They don't know that she got the position in the lamest way possible.
