Episode 7.16: Will You Be My Lorelai Gilmore

A BABY SHOWER, A JOB INTERVIEW AND A BOAT TRIP ?? While she is in the midst of planning Lane's (Keiko Agena) baby shower, Rory (Alexis Bledel) gets a long-awaited call from The New York Times offering her an informational interview. Lorelai (Lauren Graham) takes over the shower-planning duties, and finds herself brokering peace between Lane and Mrs. Kim (Emily Kuroda) over how Lane plans to raise her twins. Logan (Matt Czuchry) finally admits his business disaster to Rory, who offers him her full support, but when Logan announces that he is flying to Las Vegas to blow off steam with his old college pals Colin and Finn, Rory is disappointed and worried. When Luke (Scott Patterson) discovers that Liz (Kathleen Wilhoite) and T.J. (Michael DeLuise) are trying to sell his boat, he decides to make some changes in his life and take April (Vanessa Marano) on a long boat trip over the summer. Finally, Lane is put on bed-rest and must be wheeled through Stars Hollow in her bed to attend the shower at Miss Patty's (Liz Torres). Melissa McCarthy and Sean Gunn also star. TV Guide: Rory is planning a baby shower for Lane but has to pass the job on to her mom after she gets an interview with the New York Times; Lorelai plays mediator between Lane and Mrs. Kim, who are fighting about how the twins should be raised; Logan tells Rory about the failure of his investment.

LORELAI, RORY AND EMILY TAKE A ROAD TRIP - Lorelai plans a road trip to North Carolina to attend the wedding of Mia (guest star Kathy Baker), the woman who took in Lorelai and Rory (Alexis Bledel) and served as a surrogate mother/grandmother for many years. Rory has a fight with Logan over his immature reaction to his business disaster, and agrees to go on the trip with Lorelai. Emily invites herself along in an effort to get away from Richard, who is driving her crazy while he recuperates at home. At the wedding, Emily is upset by the close relationship Mia shares with Lorelai and Rory. Lorelai learns that Emily came to see Mia five years earlier to ask for pictures of Lorelai and Rory during the years they were estranged. Logan makes a surprise appearance and asks Rory to forgive him. Meanwhile, Lane and Zach ask Luke to be the godfather to their twins. Finally, Lane goes into labor and Luke helps get everyone to the hospital.

TV Guide: After Rory has a fight with Logan, she decides to go to North Carolina with Lorelai for Mia's wedding, and Emily, who craves a break from needy Richard, decides to drive them so she can go to a nearby spa. Meanwhile, Zack and Lane, who's about to give birth soon, invite Luke to dinner, and Zack begins to lean on Luke for advice on being a father. Mia: Kathy Baker

random, but I just remembered part of a dream I had last night....post 7.18, Lorelai was back in the diner, LL were trying to do the friends thing, and then she came in wearing the earrings & necklace he gave her.....yea, that's all I remember....

Caf, I wish I could say something that would make you feel better. I do know how you feel though and it's quite disappionted when a show took a beloved character that has so much potential like AS-P just because she loves an actor. I personally didn't think C even though he's Rory's father was that important and popular to change the character of the lead so much.

What I saw was it was more about L/C more than L/R/C. Even when Lorelai phone him I can't remember her saying he should be there for his wife and child, it was just for her the wife, I still don't know how Lorelai feels about anything.

All just my opinion and I will leave this tree alone now.

TV isn't a morality lesson - but nor is it a betrayal of our values. This was a show about a single parent and her daughter, not about a character who could care less how a man treated his child.

First, the anger and disappointment I was talking about was my own and about the past and the future. I don't want to be angry at something I have yet to to see unfold. Thats really unfair. Maybe Lorelai does lay the cards on the table when it comes to Chris. Maybe she doesn't. We don't know yet.

Really all I wanted to say was I am willing to see where the show is going. Good is not only about getting L/L together to me. Good would be seeing this whole family come together and unite as a whole. To see the characters happy with where they are in life and what they have accomplished.

There are just so many things in this show I still enjoy. Luke is just fantastic and yes I miss ranting Luke but I know he is still there. Frankly, most of his scenes has been with April and I really can't see Luke going off on a rant with his daughter present. Maybe thats just me though. I love the crazy townies and all the quirkiness.

Meh.. its all about how we see things. I just still have so much love for this show otherwise I wouldn't be here.
