And I really like melodie's reminder about how the boat is technically Lorelai's. Very interesting. If they pulled that fact in and used it...I would be pretty impressed.

Congrats to Amanda and David on their new baby.

Sad news if they don't show the remaining S60 eps, they have 4 done at a cost of some $2 million each! I hope they come back after May sweeps, if not sooner.

Ok, so even though I've seen every episode of the 5th season a million times, I don't remember the story behind the boat at all... someone want to explain and/or refer me to the episode(s) to watch? Please?

ETA: One other thing... if the show comes back on April 10, then there won't really be May sweeps except for maybe 2 episodes...? Therefore "a possible May sweeps reconciliation" being in 7.21/7.22?

Somebody tell me I'm not thinking straight tonight haha Surely sweeps have to be more than 2 episodes...

And about the DC: No idea why, but when I was watching the DC after the Lorelai and Mrs. Kim scene where Kirk walks through the door I thought it was going to be Lorelai walking through the door. Maybe because she was in the previous scene I just visioned her going in ranting on how Mrs. Kim was stressing her about the shower.

Its just so freakin rediculous that Lorelai hasn't been in the diner for almost a year....what in the worl is up with DR..GG isnt GG without Lorelai in the diner....its just getting annoying now!!

And I almost had a heart attack, because I thought it was going to be Lorelai coming into the diner, too.

Aww, yay for Amanda Peet. I suppose the only good thing about S60 being on hiatus is that AP gets some time with her new baby. But still...it has to come back. Seriously.

BNACAP (But Not As Cute As Pushkin).

Lorelai in jeep passes Luke ranting at a little old lady who owns the garage where the boat's been stored since his dad died. Boat has to move because she's going into a nursing home. Lorelai tries to calm him. He's still ranting and says to just forget about the boat and junk it.

Lorelai buys the boat behind his back. This is the episode where Luke has his dark day (anniversary of his father's death). He comes by the CS and sees the boat sticking out of her garage, and he yells at her and says she never listens to what he says.

Later she's at Miss Patty's party with Sookie, sees Luke lurking outside and goes out. There's an incredible make-up scene. She apologizes for not listening to what he said but doing what she thought he'd want but she should have respected his thinking and he tells her to "keep thinking like you think".

Last scene is Luke in the garage touching the boat and remembering his dad.

The boat was Luke's fathers. He had it stored in a woman's garage, but right before his dark day, the woman told him she wanted to move, so he would have to find a new place for the boat. Luke hadn't even looked at the boat since before his father died, wanted to get rid of it, but Lorelai ended up buying it for Luke, and then Luke made it his project to finish the boat his father never did.

Well, we first found out about the boat in BNACAP, before Luke's dark day, when Lorelai comes across Luke yelling at the old lady whose garage he was storing the boat in. Luke decides to get rid of it, but Lorelai buys it and puts it in her garage, which doesn't make Luke happy when he finds out, but later on, LL kiss and make up, and SP has the most amazing scene with the boat.

We saw Luke working on the boat in WBB when Emily shows up and surprises him.

The boat caused one of my favorite LL scenes ever. First, She saw the boat outside the diner, and then later fought with Luke about how he just took it out of her garage without asking, among other things.

We saw the boat in Pulp Friction too, but I tend to try to block that incident out of my mind, cause of the Naked!Kirk and all.

Any other boat sightings I've forgotten?

Well the retune date is yet to be confirmed but if we come back April 10 and we have no breaks the yes we only get 2 May sweeps eps, so the be 150th misses out and yes said to say DSR might have them hook up in the last 2 eps!
