I don't want to see him pining

I do think he wants the friendship back - that definitely. The romantic thing - he wants it sure but Lorelai has to make the first move dammit ! She married that stupid idiot and didn't give Luke a doubt of a chance at all

I agree but given the history of the show I doubt we'll see Lorelai pining, my SPEC is Luke at some point put on the blue cap. Not next week 'cause the EPB is playing tricks with us! but it will be a signal that he's forgiven her, if she already didn't know. Then they start to talk and at some point Lorelai makes the first move, a "stand still" moment would be nice.

Luke staring at the phone reminded me of Lorelai looking at the bags of food he'd brought to the hospital. Obviously, they were supposed to be thinking of each other.

Or another way to see it - the phone represents chatterbox Lorelai, the food - diner boy Luke ....

Can't get more simplistic than that ....

In regards to the anvils... do everyday viewers notice them as blatently as we do? Or do we notice them because we know what the future holds and we're just looking for every little clue to tell us that that future is really going to happen? Like last week when Lorelai was reading the song titles did the average viewer think "symbolism!" or just think she was reading song titles?

Yeah, definitely just some early morning rambling.

I haven't seen the episode yet but saw some pictures of him when laying in bed listening to Liz and TJ. His face broke my heart!

Why is it that I dig myself out of the snow and make it to class only to find that my professor didn't bother to turn up? Makes me mad! I hate snow. At least this much of it!

I thought someone on a tour said the boat was back in Lorelai's garage. (Take that however you want!) If they are using that in the show then I could see almost daily contact with L&L. Her driving up and him working and a few words are exchanged. Or warm spring nights with him outside her house...
Lots of progress can be made with a few words at a time. It would be private place to talk but yet the boat would be a good excuse so that it isn't about them.
We know Luke has to move the boat and that he will be fixing it up for the summer. Seems like Lorelai might offer her garage.
