I wonder who Luke hears about the break up from. Could it be Liz and TJ, or Sookie?
And how will he react? Coffee on the house is not enough. I say cell phone ban is lifted for the day, no, make it for the whole week!

That's what i'm looking for in the episode. Luke's reaction to the news and if there is an l/l scene.

I don't know if he reacts at all. I mean he didn't really show much when he got to know they are married. The scene in the hospital went ok. He had April on his mind. The scene when he sees them walking through Stars Hollow - he was mad yes but still he acted pretty calm.
I can't imagine him smiling, grinning, doing the chicken dance on his break. Yes coffee was on the house when the engagement to Max was off but the situation now is different.

Since we have a spoiler that he already knows, is it possible Mimi has come back?

Not unless you count Mimi as a gossipmonger.

I doubt it because it says "gossipmonger"

I personally think it would be a little inappropriate for Mimi to come back. I think it would be weird if Lorelai came into the diner and told him they got a divorce...almost like she was asking for pity? It's better if he finds out from someone else, and then when she does come into the diner, he says "I'm sorry about..." and she says something light back. It doesn't need to be dramatic. Not until the apologies in 7.18

I agree. No need to make it dramatic.

I can't think of any other person from which Luke would know the news.

Taylor could talk about it and he definitely doesn't care if Luke hears it or not. I mean Patty and Babette at least used code words.
Maybe it's just some random guys who we haven't met. Or maybe the Reverend and the Rabi are talking about it

Has anyone seen the gossipmonger maybe it's Lorelai?

I just think it would be fitting for Lorelai to tell Luke but we know that is unlikely to happen with that spoiler.

How slow am I?

I just put together that the whole hen and roster thing is the code word.

I'll go site in the corner now...

I thought the whole point of Nicolalala's post was to tell us that Luke finds out about the break up before Lorelai tells him. Frankly, as sick as I am of the LC and no real LL stuff, it doesn't strike me as terribly likely that she would go running to him about this. Even if it wasn't about the guy that she married, when he didn't jump, I don't really see why she would still feel like they are still friends. Friendly and friends are two different things. Of course they are still there for each other in an emergency, but they aren't going to think, "Oh, I'll call him/her up and have cup of coffee and a chat." The loss of the friendship was one of the primary problems last year. I think we are in for a spring of very tentative friend moments.

And IMO most of this falls on Lorelai, Luke said he wanted to be friends and give her the coffee but now for 8 months (what Sookie said) she has not been back to the diner, he has not gone anywhere so IMO it's Lorelai holding them back, yes she went to Luke in ep 8 and yes she wrote the letter but she is the one holding back still and preventing them from moving one.

I don't thing they lost their friendship last season, they had a failure to communicate what they needed to and sorry but I still think most of that was Lorelai not opening up about April.

I agree it might be slow at first and if 18 is the big "I'm sorry" scene then maybe they will find out how the other still feels and we can move on and back to what should have happened MONTHS ago!

Even with his "A" SL contract there was nothing to say he had to marry Lorelai or even have a serious relationship, he could have been in the first 13 eps without any of that and still been the "A" SL.

What a waste of half a season!

How ever this turns out there will be fans that don't like, it already many BBs are turning of and may not be back we can just hope the JJs come back now to boost the ratings!
