| Oh, I think we are all being set up for believing Luke is all to blame - especially after Lorelai's unbelievable words last week about having done all she could do to make it work - I don't think my eyes could have rolled back any further in my head if I tried when she said that. Hiding out from someone and then hysterically offering an ultimatum and flinging herself in Chris' bed did not smack of trying to work it out. If only she could have done for Luke what she did for Chris: finally actually sit down and talk about what she was feeling without the hysteria and the threat of an ultimatum. Lorelai is the lead character - I am hoping they won't have Luke crawling back to her - that would make me sick - and, supposedly, she has been on some "journey" and I hope that it will allow her to see her part in this whole ridiculousness that ASP foisted on us last year. | |||

| So I just realized RRK wrote this ep. Yes I am slow but She is by far my favorite and she "gets" L/L so I'm even more optimistic about a L/L diner scene. Or at least a L/L scene that lasts longer than a few secs ![]() I still blame ASP But if I had to place blame, I would have to blame they equally since I love them both equally. __________________ Ted: Here's the thing about mistakes. | Do we actually know what the town think/saw? As in have we seen anything from Miss. Patty/Babette/other townies to suggest what they know about the break up (of LL)? I really don't remember. I blocked out most of the beginning of this season. I mean they don't know what happened with LC, just that they broke up. Perhaps that's all they know about LL as well. No specifics, just that they broke up. And Luke does need to get his act together (which I think he did in his alone time), but so does Lorelai. There was a lot of nonsense between the two of them that needed fixing. Luke seems to be on the right path, and from what I saw of Lorelai last week, I think she is too. She was a woman in denial, but I think she's finally seeing the light. By the time this is over, she won't just be blaming Luke for what happened in Partings. The blame will lie equally with both. As it should. __________________ Lorelai: So you forfeit? Cuz, that's how it goes. If you don't play the game, then you forfeit. | |||

Had she given him time and sat down with him and talked about it, shared her feelings with him then I really think Luke would have handled everything entirely different. | |||

| I think Lorelai believes she was giving him time and space, which is what he asked for. He didn't want her to get involved and she was trying to accommodate him. Maybe she was waiting for him to see what he was doing was wrong. She shouldn't have had to beg for his attention or for him to let her be a part of his life. He could have had both a daughter and a partner/wife. He needs to learn how to have both without one relationship suffering at the expense of another. April should not have changed their relationship the way that it did. __________________ LIZ | |||

| Lorelai is not all to blame either. The blame is 50/50 IMO. __________________ LIZ | |||

| I agree Spkette. Lorelai has shown herself to be pretty messed up - first by choosing to sleep with Chris that night then rushing into this marriage. While Luke did have issues, my oh my, Lorelai certainly brought her emotional forklift to the table in a big way. What I hope DR does is explore this L/L debacle in a remotely believable way since he didn't come close - for me - with the nonsense with C/L. Nothing about C/L made on bit of sense to me from Partings on - not the dating, the elopement and not the break up. So, my expectations for how this gets resolved is very very very low. | |||

| Not to be a party pooper or anything but why are we playing the blame game again? What's done is done and LL are ready to forget and forgive and get back together. __________________ Luke:"It’s like my life isn’t even real to me unless you’re there, and you’re in it, and I’m sharing it with you." | Yeah I think the point is that they both accept they're both to blame, which is THE most important factor in fixing those problems and moving on (together if that's what they want, and we know they do) I think what we're going to see now is both of them fighting for eachother....which they both failed to do last time __________________ "Oh, I can't stop drinking the coffee. | I actually don't think the townies should blame either Lorelai or Luke. They don't have anything to do with it, I can understand them gossiping about it and trying to figure out what went wrong with them but to actually put blame on one person is kind of wrong, that's what I think. | |||
