I sure hope the next 8 episodes are lousy with growth.
Eh, living on a prayer?

I see growth in Luke. He's softer, although we also saw that with Lorelai - until the contrivances started.

He's learnt to fight for himself and his daughter. Before, he seemed to accept all the setbacks he suffered.

But Lorelai, with her A-storyline journey, has learnt nothing. She knew more back in season one than she does now. And that's just sad.

Sometimes I feel we should call these journeys by their correct name - a filibuster. And sometimes the dialogue sounds like an excerpt from a filibuster, too.

Well, I think she did learn that Chris is not and should never have been a wonderful possibility for her. She also learned that she jumped into the relationship and didn't resolve her feelings for Luke. And a stretch could be that she learned to be upfront and honest with herself and others. Lying by omission hasn't really worked well for her and maybe she FINALLY will realize this too after what happened with the letter.

I agree! Bring on the swooning! Seriously, though, you're right. With the end of the season approaching and the future still up in the air, I have to believe that we are finally getting to the time where we are going to see some of the things that we want. It would be great to hear Luke say that. Oh man...I'm really building up 7.18 in my mind now. I can't help it!

filibuster

a tactic such as a long irrelevant speech or several such speeches used to delay or prevent the passage of legislation

Sorta fits what this season has been all about.

And I agree she has not learn much this season, just that she doesn't want to be with Chris 'cause of her feelings for Luke and other crap. But most fans will see the real reason for the break up no mater how much they deny it as Luke and looking back on the season as being used.

TISL is amazing. I could watch the Luke consoling Lorelai scene over and over....

I love watching GG instead of writing history papers.

But she failed to learn that he "should never have been" that possibility. He's still the "man she wants to want".

Has she really?

Heh, I'd say the letter worked just fine. It helped get rid of Christopher. Pity it didn't happen sooner. You're right, if she'd shown it to him when she first wrote it, might have spared us 2 or 3 more eps of him.

Honestly, with this so-called journey, did they ever think about us? The viewers?

You know, I don't know how the writers are going to dig themselves out of this hole. If I were Luke, as much as I might love Lorelai, I would not want to take her back at this point and I don't see Lorelai wanting to go back with Luke the way they are writing the storyline. As someone wrote in the MT, I think we do need a magician to fix this.

Nope.

We were being dragged along the road holding on the that frakken bumper, DSR didn't let us in and kept the windows closed, does the CW carry health insurance?

I agree, to a point.

DSR is gonna have to work magic in the last 8 eps to make up believe again!

It makes me sad to see this come from a JJ. You have to believe in their love. As George Michael says....you gotta have faith!

more like you have to take a leap faith

my desire to see them comes from my love of the character of luke and for some reason he still loves her. thats good enough for me
