I think I must be the only one that remembers this conversation. This explained it all for me and set up Lorelai avoiding Luke and finally losing it.

LORELAI: It was a great party and a major breakthrough. April's awesome. I think she liked me.
SOOKIE: I bet she loved you.
LORELAI: We bonded. And hopefully, things will change and I won't have to hide.
SOOKIE: Good.
LORELAI: Yeah Luke just needed that time and space. You know and in hindsight, I think it was good for him, and I'm really glad I let him have it.
SOOKIE: You were incredibly patient.
LORELAI: I was, incredibly patient, while at the same time incredibly impatient.

She forgave his deceit, let him deal in his own way and finally when all looked good again, she got the one-two punch from Anna and Luke once again.
Why are we rehasing the luke-hate?

I mean really we know he shut her out. That he hurt her but she also hurt him. I think its awesome that DR is letting them both be accountable for their roles in the breakup. Things are finally looking up for LL, I don't see the need to rehash this negativity. None of us will ever agree completely on who was right or wrong. But, we all agree that these two people love each other and need each other. Frankly, I think Mia and the flashbacks are gonna help a bit with her realizing that luke does still love her. Or she may just take a leap fight and decide she doesn't wanna wait 10 more years and just lay it all on the line with an apology and thats when I think Luke will do the same. I think he's really learned what he did wrong and that he needs to express emotions more--to let people in.

GG, big word to your post. Not "duh" at all. I love your spec of Lorelai telling Luke how badly she wanted to marry him. And I hope he'll follow that up with "I always wanted to marry you." Cheesy, yes, but gosh darnit we've waited 18 episodes for this moment. Give us someting to swoon over, DR.

Yes ITA

And I think she already knows she loves Luke she has strong enough feelings for him that they are part of the reason for the break up with Chris.

I think she doesn't think Luke loves her enough or in the same way, which will hold her back from saying anything for a few eps.

Even if we get a scene like Ross and Rachel in Friends at the beach house where they finally admit how they feel, I don't care I just want this crap in the name of drama to be over!

i don't see it as a rehash of luke-hate, but more a discussion of the process of Lorelai pulling back, but either way, it's 'cause we've got nothing else to discuss.

I guess I am just tired of it. We will never really all agree and I think lorelai's process is pretty clear:

luke messed up and she hit her head on the pavement which led to the loss of her mental facilities.

I just believe that lorelai as will luke will admit their failings and only from their can they truly move on. She's gonna have to learn to trust him and the same for luke. You can only hold on to your hurt and anger for so long.

That's what the spoiler from MA said and I hope it happens and is not "tweaked"

Yes while I think on some level they know what went wrong and have forgiven each other, but it still needs to be said.

Well, actually the last time L/L had a go around and one walked off, was when Luke walked out of the dinner with Sookie and Jackson and Lorelai came to his apartment and let him know he couldn't go to his clubhouse once they got married - so, it did happen after they were romantically involved - not only when they were just friends.

And Luke was probably expecting something similar in TLM when he went over, but as we know even if he went over the same night it would have been too late.

Did we get a spoiler about the newsstand recently? That it was all spruced up and ready to use? Maybe that’s where Luke overhears the L/C news.

I think it’ll be interesting to see Luke’s reaction too. At this point I don’t think he’ll see it as an opportunity to get back with Lorelai, because in the next episode he's planning a summer trip. If he thought he had a chance, you’d think he wouldn’t be making those sorts of plans.

I think maybe his initial reaction will be anger – maybe he'll be annoyed that it’s all unpredictable again, angry that her life is a mess, angry at the EiF’s existence, maybe angry at the townies because they're dropping hints about L/L getting back together and he doesn't see that as a possibility. But maybe most of all he'll be angry at himself for wanting them to split up.

You know, a six pack of spoilers would be good right about now.

TA. And not to be pessimistic but why are we assuming season 8 would bring what we want to see? DSR never said he didn't have enough time to show that this year. He said Partings left him a "flowerpot of possibilities".

No contract said he had to marry C/L, or stretch that out past the 13 episodes. He could have finished off that A-storyline much earlier, if he'd wanted.

Now, we finally reach Lorelai single - well, I'd have been more sympathetic and interested in that last autumn. Now, not so much. It will take a long time to recover from the insult of seeing her spend so much time connecting herself to that self-centered jerk, especially since she didn't even regret it in the end.

Funny how DR didn't care about the credibility of marrying her off to Christopher so quickly, but now she needs "alone time" and so-called "stronger storylines" before LL can even talk to each other. Heh.

That's a good point. And he did come to her, when she was stealing his answering machine tape. But other than that, not so much. Looks like neither one of them know how to fight.

Of course, I am feeling pessimistic about it, because I don't really see that either of them have really learned anything. Maybe they are using the Liz and TJ staying over as showing he can deal with more than one person. And perhaps the fact that she was willing to make an effort with babydaddy... nah. I got nothing. I sure hope the next 8 episodes are lousy with growth.

I agree, I just hope DSR didn't screw up things too bad.

Ep 11 was the season low point for the rating, but 12 & 13 built them up again going against the normal AI trend, 14 we down but that was mainly to the basketball in some paces. I hope over then next 3 eps that the rating trend is clear and up so when we come back they have a strong finish to the season.
