I would think that Lane would ask Rory to be the godmother. At least it makes sense in my book. And, honestly, I'm surprised they didn't ask Brian to be the godfather.

And maybe with all the Logan/Rory Emily/Richard drama, Lorelai will realize that it's nice to be drama free? Or maybe she'll realize that she and Luke had it pretty good? Or.. uh..hmm. I don't know. But I'm expecting good things from Lorelai and Emily. It'd even be nice if Emily said something encouraging about her and Luke.

The DC is up at CW. It's Emily and Richard eating dinner, and Richard is complaining about his soup, how soup is not a meal. He's gets angry and rants. The doorbell rings, and nobody will answer it -- Emily gets angry and answers it herself. It's Lorelai with the drugs. Richard gets angry with Stephan, who gets insulted and quits. Richard looks a bit smug. Lorelai asks how it's going and they both answer "Fine!". Richard leaves to go watch golf, Emily wonders who will cook Richard's meals -- Lorelai suggests Emily make him something, which earns a look of disbelief, so she suggests Aurora the maid...Emily says she's hiding, then turns around calling her name tentatively, as if she's expecting her to jump out at her. It's funny.

Because Emily would notice it missing and ask why she's not wearing it. She probably wants to tell them about the break up first -- although the missing ring would be a good lead in. lol

Thanks for the DC Clip recap damselfly I'llget started on TS when I wake up.

IMO she's wearing the ring 'cause she hasn't told Emily but as I said they has a major stuff up (which I told Ausiello) by her not having the ring on in the music shop and the scene after, you can clearly see NO ring, which mad me more than a little happy.

The TS will be a couple of hours unless someone else wants to do it today.

Did we get a new promo?

okay back to catching the last 3 pages...

I agree that it is probably still there for Emily's sake and, really, rings do not always get taken off immediately when a marriage ends - in fact, I know of no one who immediately removed it unless there was cheating involved in the break up.

I think it is kind of strange that Emily would leave Richard so soon after this surgery. After my mother's open heart surgery, my dad didn't leave the house for more than 2 hours at a time and even then he was nervous even though someone was with her at all times.

If they are driving to North Carolina, that is more than one day's drive - I've done it from NYC which is even closer, so I don't quite understand how Emily decides to do this trip...but, it is GG and not much ever makes much sense.

I wonder if when Luke hears about C/L ending, if he will think it was Chris who did the leaving and that Lorelai will remain in perpetual waiting for Chris to be the one in the long run - or, do we have to wait until 7.18 to hear Lorelai maybe tell him the marriage was a big mistake, etc. etc. Because if L/L ever do get back together, how exactly is Luke supposed to believe it is really finally at long long long last over between C/L?

Thanks, damselfly.

Maybe Lorelai will ceremoniously take the ring off during the scotch scene with Emily. It could be a bonding thing. It could lead back to that "blood is thicker than water" idea. Hopefully Emily really meant it and will be there for her daughter. Because this is definitely one of the times a daughter needs her mother.

That's what I said when I first heard of the road trip, "why now" which Richard still recovering. Also why isn't Luke going , as far as we know?

Regardless of the promo IMO Luke hears it from them, why would they be there otherwise, unless it's the only diner scene. I'm hoping (and know it won't happen) that Lorelai goes into the diner and tells Luke and he pretends to be shocked but already knows and we get a Luke smile when Lorelai leaves and free coffee for the diner

After the initial shock when seeing the ring, i start to think that Lorelai not wearing it after her talk with Sookie was more symbolic for the viewers to understand that it was over.
And i agree now she wears it only for Emily. No need to worry

If people here hadn't been talking about the ring, I never would have thought to ever look for it - I've never focused on the ring/no ring aspect of her engagement or this so-called marriage. It may have just been a continuity problem or something else. It didn't seem that she had made her decision by the time she was walking with Michel, but who knows.

Good idea. All barriers and rings down. And I agree, this is definitely a time to show Emily is there for Lorelai. It'll probably be mutual, Lorelai also there for Emily, who's coping with Richard's mood swings, worried sick about his recovery, and still processing the realization that she almost lost him.

Spoiler or spec?

ETA: You mean someone else got wind of the breakup BEFORE Babette? (She lives right next to Lorelai...)
