I gotta say I really can't wait to see this episode. I want to see how everything is played out.

ETA: It looks like Lorelai answers back to Sookie immediatly after she says the whole "if there were no Luke" thing and then the promo just cut and put Sookie's next line in.

ETA2: Lorelai looks at Luke for a while

Just something that made me smile.

Her uh "I chose you, I married you" isn't very convincing. It's not like she is pleading with him. They're definitely arguing and she sounds fed up.

ETA: I say "sounds" because the video isn't working for me for some reason. It freezes. Weird... but thanks for the links anyway.

It's so much less convincing even than her pleading in ep. 12, it's like she's not even trying. And it doesn't even touch her "I pick you!" in partings.

It totally seems like there's two days to me. One with the dress with the floral trim and Chris in red. When she seems to want to keep the marriage going. Then the day with the fully black dress when she talks to Sookie, waves to Luke, and then has the talk with Chris on the couch when he's wearing the dress shirt.

Only reason I can't wait is the knowledge that it is OVER this week, unless the tweak it LOL

OT - why don't they just put the clip online them selves, they should know by now we'll have it up in minutes of going to air! They should make the most of youtube

Omigod - the melodrama! I for one, am so thankful I never had to hear this kind of melodramatic dreck from ASP througout the first 6-1/2 years - these writers can't seem to get away from it. Last time it was "but I love you. i love you." Now, "it's I chose you. I chose you." yech. sounds awful.

Thank heavens this part of this nonsense is coming to an end, I don't think I could take more of Chris' petulence about Luke - which has been going on now since he laid eyes on him with the baby and Lorelai - the writers have lost any semblence of creativity with this storyline - can't wait for it to just be over.

I like how in the new promo, Lorelai lingers longer outside Luke's. It makes me wonder if she'll really just walk away or if we'll actually have a scene there beyond just the wave.

I agree that it looks like they talk at the start of the ep, the go to work, Lorelai has the talk with Sookie, later she walks past the diner. Then she has the talk in the promo and they end it.
It's looking less likely she then goes to the diner but you never know.

I think this all occurs on more than one day. The dress that she's wearing when she tells him that she chose him is not the same dress she is wearing at the DFI, when she waves to Luke and when she breaks down and cry in front of Christopher.

The first dress is black and has a floral collar. The next dress is also black but it does not have a floral collar.

I think the scene with the floral collared dress is the first day after the hospital visit. He leaves and returns (the next day or two days later, whichever the case may be) and they have their final discussion on the couch.

The thing I love about Chris's melodramatic overreaction to Luke being in Lorelai's life is that, based on what Chris has been witness to, there has basically little to no evidence from Lorelai that she cares about Luke that much. He's seen the way she looks at him? When? She wasn't even looking at Luke when Doula was there, she was looking at the kid. At the hospital, she was looking at a bag of food. I can't work out what the writers want us to think. Are we supposed to see all these hints that Lorelai really does care about Luke? Because really what we've seen onscreen in that she cares about him as a long time friend. So are the writers trying to say that Chris is a moron who's overreacting about absolutely nothing, or is Chris being ultraperceptive and seeing things that the audience is supposed to be seeing too? Were we actually supposed to think Chris was being melodramatic when he called the character reference a love letter, or is that what the writers wanted it to be? I think it was a far cry from a love letter.

As for the "I chose you", I'm choosing to add to the end of that phrase, "I chose you (sotto voce: because Luke wasn't available and I don't want to die alone and be eaten by Alsations)"

Don't you think that's where Chris is right now? Of course he isn't smart enough to make a witty joke out of it (kudos on the Alsation thing!!) but I think this is where Chris is coming from. He knows he was her second choice but thought he could deal with it but he now knows just how deep her feelings for Luke go and that being her second choice isn't the house buying, baby making, quippy joy he thought it might be??

Maybe, just maybe Chris will learn something about real love out of all of this because he isn't getting it from Lorelai!

So does anyone else agree that Lorelai's "I don't even want to be in this marriage anymore" from the audio promo is something she says to Sookie??? Now we know she does have a D&M with Sookie??

Yeah, she chose him so well. It was like "Omg! Luke marry me or I'll die." "No." "Okay. Christopher's turn. I choose him."

Oops, my bad. She did. It really isn't in keeping with the rest of the promos though. I think it might be spliced together? I do hope she says it to him though...
