I love how they get from here to here. Outstanding. I miss trilogy LL. (I watched them discuss Dr. Phil books last night. When he gave his books to Jess, I yelled at him to keep them. Because he wasn't done with them yet. Heh.)

Thanks for the pictures, notoutforawalk!

And I love that episode. Lorelai is so beautiful and them dancing - wow.
Those great, old moments.

Welcome, debske! Have fun.

I think this lack of LL info could mean that some people are getting what they wanted - Lorelai on her own for some time, not jumping back into a relationship, even if it is with Luke.

Of course, it's all fine and dandy if you have another twenty or thirty episodes to spare, but these could very likely be the very few last episodes ever, that's why it's so infuriating, all the time that's been wasted, and might still be wasted even further.

I still can't believe the missed opportunities for following the lives of a committed, cohabitating (married or not) LL, with all its banter, love and friendship, through rough, tough and good. TPTB had it, and let it slip through their fingers. Why, I still can't comprehend.

could not have said it better gjoni. We want our middle dammit, we deserve our middle. I'm like 2 seconds from breaking out a full on 'middle' campaign just like our June 3rd one.

We barely have any info about the episodes so I'm not worried about lack of L/L stuff. I think we will see some kind of interactions over the next few episodes - I don't think they will be even remotely romantic in nature, but we know virtually nothing about the episodes, so don't give up hope yet!

Agree. I wouldn't have minded seeing Lorelai single.. instead we got her married to Christopher and now when we are getting to what could be the end of the show and it all looks like an end of show reconciliation. Whatever. I'm just hoping for a S8 to make up for the last year. In my books it doesn't matter how good the last half of the season is. Its not going to make up for the last year to me anyway.

Yep. I was totally down with her being alone for a little while, when I didn't realize just how long the babydaddydrama was going to drag out. Now, I feel like I am going to get the alone time at the expense of LL. That is not what I wanted at all. I am feeling fairly screwed on the LL front. Ah well. Maybe we are all just freaking without reason, considering how unspoiled we are, despite best efforts. I hope so...

I watched my second viewing of Gilmore Girls today, fist time doing so this season, and realized that Babette came into the diner specifically to tell Luke about Lorelai’s dad because she thought he would want to know. She wasn’t there to gossip.

After telling him, she pats his hand consolingly as if she knew he was hurting and upset about the news. Why would she be consoling him and why would she think that he’ll be interested in Lorelai’s life now that she’s married to Christopher? Could it be that she, along with the rest of the town, suspects that Luke still loves Lorelai even though he operates as if he has gotten over her? Too bad they can see but Lorelai can’t see what’s in front of her.

A few observations:
  • When Emily says that Logan was one of the good ones, the expression on Lorelais’s face was very revealing. She keeps her head down avoiding eye contact with Emily. No doubt she’s aware and ashamed of the fact that Christopher wasn’t there for her and could not be considered one of the good ones.
  • Why is Richard wearing a hospital gown that ties behind his back after he’s just had open heart surgery? Shouldn’t he have on something that gives easy access to his heart when the doctors and nurses need to examine him?
  • When Lorelai left her final voice message to Christopher, she told him that everyone was there for her. She made a point in listing all of them except Luke. Guess she couldn’t tell him about Luke considering he was the reason they were fighting. However, that doesn’t say much for the strength of the marriage and comfort with her husband when she can’t be honest with him about everything. She still hasn’t yet leaned the lesson of being honest with the one you’re with.

aw, I love that scene not. I could watch it over and over. I was once obsessed with it. I love how they slowly get closer and closer. I love her nervous laugh. Aw, I just love it.

Great, now I'm going to start watching it again..lol

Because, in the end, television is made by human beings.

Personally I think that, no matter how good the second part will be (7.11 marked a big change in the season quality, IMO) the TPTB and show creators have screwed up the show.

I'm ok with this. I'm enjoying so far other shows (Studio 60, Veronica Mars and the UBERMARVELLOUS 7th season of CSI LV) but sometimes, when they air old episodes here and I get to watch one, I feel sad because in my whole life - only tv wise, of course - a show based on "the everyday life of a mother and daughter" has never been as good as Gilmore Girls.

Actually I think that the second part of the season will be as good as the old season - or at least comparable to those episodes - and will leave us with good memories. Not the memories we would have wanted, but still good.

Dream I had last night: the diner burns down and Lorelai goes there and is looking at it and breaks down and starts talking outloud, thinking no one is around. She spills her heart and then realizes Luke is sitting in the corner and he smiles and asks if she's ok and then she becomes really self-conscious and tries to leave...and then I woke up.

(I'm not crazy for dreaming about LL, right?)

Tara: no you're not. I just had a dream about Lorelai and Luke last nite too!!

So we're either both or it's just part of being an active member of the GG insanity.
I mean, last week I dreamt of Logan - yeah, Rory's Logan. I should have myself committed.

Because they know Luke. They have been knowing him for a while. He's a hermit, a loon and all, but they know him. They know he's been alone for a while after Rachel left the first time, they know the guy either commits to a woman or he doesn't. So he's not seeing phisically Loreali but they - at least Miss Patty and Babette - know Luke'd be still caring for Lorelai.

Actually I LOVED every minutes of Babette on the last episode. She was her old self, the whole jungle sex fantasy made me fall off the chair. But also her very straight questions about where Chris was meant that she knows something is wrong. And not because she's peeping - well, she is, but you get my point - but because she knows something is wrong.

Mentioning Luke would have made things worst. I can understand that - in that exact moment with her father having surgery - she wasn't keen to worsen things with Chris.

Plus, IMO, the point she wanted to make by mentioning all those ppl was to underline that there are some person that are in her life permanently and that are able to be there for her ALWAYS.
And Chris wasn't among those ppl, which means a lot.

To be honest.. When she left that message to Chris she didn't think Luke was about to turn up at the hospital again. I can understand her not mentioning that he had been there earlier. It wasn't about her marriage problems. It was all about Chris not being there for her when he should have been.

Lucky you. I had a kind of awful dream. It was C/L...I was 'rewatching' the first episodes of this season, and rewinding, rewatching, to catch teenie little Neshbe signs (like song lyrics in the background), except this time, upon rewatching, there were MORE scenes than what aired and I had to sit through them (7.04 expanded...yeah...me no like. Even if Rory's in the scene).

Then I had a dream that my mom stuck a needle into my spine in order to do a procedure to draw blood from my mouth. At first she never told me she was driving the darn needle RIGHT INTO my spine so imagine how much that killed. Serves me right for talking about needles for two weeks though (I was excited because I was going to learn how to give needles a week ago).

On topic...LL are pretty.
