I just think the moment where she takes it off will be a pivotal moment - then again we never saw her taking of Luke's engagement ring or Max's engagement ring, so it could very well be swept under the carpet like everything else

Forgot to say before, thanks lilmelodie for the new thread.
Lorelai tells Rory about the breakup with Christopher, in the teaser of 7.15.

It could happen and damn it I will be right one of these eps!
You are right. I always think in terms of real life, but in tv land a lot can be wrapped up in a single ep.

We can say it'll definitely be within' sweeps. It wouldn't make any sense otherwise.

The very fact that Babette was in 7.13 and that she and Loreali had a classic scene in the same exact episode that marks a significant crisis for Lorelai and Chris means a lot to me.

We have been told - per Lorelai's mouth - that she and Luke have met occasionally. But onscreen it's been a long time since Lorelai has joined the town's life. And part of the town's life is being at Luke.

I actually want Lorelai to enter the diner very soon, but I'm also craving for a good ol "breakfast al Luke's" scene with Lorelai and Rory. They were in EVERY episode in the past, so it feels really weird - I know Rory's at Yale, but she can visit Lor on weekends - not to have them eating there.

I knew it! I knew it! She cannot wait FND to tell her daughter.

Thanks Ciao I do wonder what her reaction is going to be. I for one think she will be behind her mum.

Thanks for the info ciaobella

I just LOVE your avi where. I suspect that the wave scene might be from ep. 15 and not 14. Don't know just a spec!

Thanks as always to everyone who brings info.

This is a little late, but the concept has festering inside me so I need to let it out.

Because of my extreme CL aversion, I haven't watched a whole epi lately, but I catch the scenes that cause discussion around here so I'm informed. I just watched the end of epi 13 and I have a slightly different take on the LL scene than I've seen written here. Unlike most of you, I didn't mind Lorelai, but I did mind Luke. I'm not sure if I can describe why inoffensively or articulately. Luke's attitude and mannerisms reminded me of late S6 inferiorityComplex!Luke. (That overly grateful, inferior, supplicant thing. You know?) That wasn't necessarily the vibe of the scene, but that's where it took me to. (In comparison, the diner scene with Zach seemed like a softer version of classic Luke.) Does that make sense to anyone? Like they still need a power shift to have an LL moment?

Oh, and just to throw in my two cents about Emily's "silver lining" remark. I thought it was just a continuation of "It will be alright." She was reassuring both Lorelai and herself that the Chris situation would turn out okay (somehow). Silver lining to be named later, you know?

OT I like winter, but there is no reason for it to be below 20. Ever. Seriously.

Thanks Ciaobella for the spoiler!

As for Rory's reaction, I don't think she will be mad or suprised but maybe a little sad. Maybe? After all, it's her mom and dad and they couldn't be together.

But overall I think she wants Lorelai to be happy and that's all that counts.

I think Luke's behavior was because he wanted to be there for Lorelai to help out but realized too that his being there could cause discomfort so I thought that since he arrived and offered to help out in any way he could, when Emily wanted him to do some things, he was gonna do them.

I think his less than assertive side was in evidence because he was trying to not create a problem for Lorelai and her delightful deadbeat husband.

It was enough for me to see that Luke saw exactly when Christopher arrived at the hospital and knew he hadn't been there all day. SP pulled off that look at Chris so perfectly when Chris felt he had a right to tell Luke to go - classic. Lorelai seemed embarrassed about the whole scene - her looking down after Chris made that nasty remark to Luke.

Luke's always known Chris is a loser and this was just another reminder of who he is -

I get that it was an awkward situation in which Luke couldn't be very aggressive. Part of my issue is just a personal emotional response. This particular version of nonassertive Luke is associated with the post-April awfulness for me. I guess I need to see LL in a less charged environment -- let's see if they can still pull off the good stuff.

Who doesn't love Luke's opinion of Chris? Let's have another WBB speech while we're at it.

Thanks for the thread, lil.

If Lorelai doesn't wear the ring to FND, it might be possible that Emily notices, but not say anything. She could be compassionate (since she said "blood is thicker than water") and wait until Lorelai comes to her. Emily is already aware that LC are having problems and I'm doubting it will surprise her when Lorelai tells her they split. Or Emily could say something like "Where is your wedding band?" and Lorelai could pull a Rory and say that it was giving her a rash and she had to take it off. Oddly enough, if you watch the scene with Rory/Lorelai in the room with Richard, she is scratching at it. Anyway, and then when Lorelai does tell her the marriage is over Emily could say "Yes, I've known. I was just waiting for the official word from you. I'm really sorry, Lorelai. I am."

Bec99, I get your point but I'm with clmorrow here. He wanted so much to be there for Lorelai that he couldn't help but going there - he said Babetto told him and then, next thing he new he was at the hospital - but he was also very aware his presence could have been awkward.

As for Diner!Luke, yeah, that was a softer version of old Luke and I think that becoming a father, loosing Lorelai, winning the custody battle all these things hava had some serious impact on him. He looks more in touch with his feelings that he was in the past. I actually believe that Luke has changed for good. And this softer and lovely side I think will make Loreali want him even more

This doesn't mean there's no room for a good ol' rant, but I feel like he has become more patient and calm.

Hey is it me or Emily remark "oh, no, not him again" came out cold, harsh and incredibly insensitive? I don't if she was being just ovewhelmed by the situation or if that was the same reaction she would have had in any other moment.
And the way she was treating him like less than a waiter - handing him money?! - was really brutal.

I adored Emily in 7.13, KB did a heck of a job, and that scene in the store almost drove me to cry. But that snotty tone she used with Luke...Ah, man, I hated it!

Mots: I think that, whether Lorelai wears her wedding ring or not, Emily will not notice it in the beginning. I can see the scene at FND with Emily COMPLETELY absorbed by this fish-gate plan to improve Richard health.
As for the end I concurr with you and - thanks to that scotch - I hope she'll be quietly supportive like she did when Lorelai told her there wasn't going to ba a wedding and Emily put her hands on her shoulder.

Man that 7.15 episode cannot come fast enough: I'm dying for some new Lorelai/Emily scenes. The one at the hospital were GREAT.

I agree. I want it to be "big" but casual. Thats why I think it should just be done in a natural way and they shouldn't make a fuss about it. That would make the most sense to me. That said, I don't see why it couldn't happen in any of the next episodes. Just because she goes back in the diner doesn't mean that L/L are getting back together. (Though I'm sure I could come up with several dirty scenarios) They are friends and support each other so why not? Or maybe that just because I am craving some L/L scenes
I am hoping Lorelai does go in the diner, even if it is just to give Luke an update on Richard. The symbolism being the marriage with Chris is over so she has no reason not to....no reason to worry about bruising anyone's ego. If it goes down like that, it could happen next week.
