Thanks for the thread lil

Is anyone else nervous because there is no DC? Are they "tweaking" it again?

Look at Lorelai's past.
Max - over in one scene, Lorelai going in to Rory and wanting to RUN!
Chris - the call from Sherri.
Digger - Don't sue my dad!
Luke - was a little longer but for her it was over in Partings and this was the first Luke knew there was a problem.

Now with Chris again it looks like it could be one scene and it's over!
Judging by ep description - that was quite reliable for the timeline in 7.13 - Chris will appear at the end of the episode.

I think Lorelai will spend most of the episode at the Inn, trying to keep her mind off the whole marriage situation.
Then, on her way home she pass near Luke's and we have the waving scene and finally the Chris/Lorelai break up scene.

Or
We have Inn, break up and Lorelai waving at Luke: she looks sad, she might want to take a little walk after the disruptive and painful break up scene.

In both scenario there'll be just on Chris scene, IMO: the breakup. And that'll be it.

elduccia my SPEC for next week (did I post this here already?) is Yes most of the ep in the DFI after Chris goes off for how ever long. Then they talk and break it off, then the last scene is a sad but maybe relieved Lorelai walking the street and she goes into Luke's, he looks up and smiles, fade to black...

Given my track record it probably won't happen that way.

OT - where the frak is the DC and promo???

OT: Why is it that it feels so long between the episodes?

I am hoping for a L/L diner scene in the next ep. Not likely to happen but wouldn't that be a nice unspoiled scene??

It's exactly like that!

And it's a sad but also very sweet scene.

IMO it isn't very likely for Lorelai to go in the Diner in 7.14.

Whether the waving thing happens before the break up or after it, I think Lorelai will be devastated and she'll need some time to cool off.
No need to enter her ex-fiance Diner after she has just broken up with her husband.

In 7.15 there could be some room for it but she's still in the "I gotta tell my family about it" mood.

I'd say maybe in 7.16? Lane is having her baby shower and I could see Lorelai going to the diner to pick up something to eat that they might have forgotten to buy. Some sort of "food emergency crisis" that Luke's always been so great in everting

It's just so sad it's been so long sing Lorelai has been in the diner, not counting Partings it was SCPP 6.20 so 15 eps ago and maybe a few more yet.

I just hope the diner is a big thing when it happens.

I have asked Ausiello, do you think that helps?

I think, since GG has often gone symbolic in some scenes, that it'll be a big thing.
Not big as in "the episode main event" but I do hope it'll be related to some sort of improvement on the LL relationship too.

I'm still hoping for a casual - but still significant thing - like Lorelai going there to grab chips of cookies for Lane's baby showers. It would have loads of positive meanings: the twins are about to be born and maybe Lorelai buys coffee flavoured cookies and Luke makes a remark about how unsuitable coffee is for a pregnant woman. Something simple, cute, light and positive to enlighten the show after the whole break up thing.

No.
But one can hope!

I agree. I want it to be "big" but casual. Thats why I think it should just be done in a natural way and they shouldn't make a fuss about it. That would make the most sense to me. That said, I don't see why it couldn't happen in any of the next episodes. Just because she goes back in the diner doesn't mean that L/L are getting back together. (Though I'm sure I could come up with several dirty scenarios) They are friends and support each other so why not? Or maybe that just because I am craving some L/L scenes

Well of course anything to do with Luke and the diner will be big

The reason I like the idea of Lorelai going to Luke's after the break up with Chris is it will be a sign of her moving on from Chris and wanting her normal life back and if that's just turning up at the diner at the end of next week and fading to back after she enters then so be it.

I think it's only a matter of time before they get back together but we have these step to do first and that starts with going back to Luke's.

She may go into the diner to thank Luke for his help at the hospital??....before she breaks the news to Chris that she can't be married to him anymore.

She already thanked Luke at the hospital. I honestly thing that - being that she's considering divorce and that she will actually break up/divorce with Chris at the end of the ep - that she's not ready to get back to her normal life.

I agree with you Craig: Lorelai entering the diner will mark a change and a return to her normal life. But it'll take her a while to get back to normal. Breakups are bad - expecially divorces: you have to deal with the failure of a big project - no matter how haunted it was - and you cannot breakup and go back to your life within' few hours.

I really see this back to the diner scene in 7.16: the news about the breakup will be out, she'll have had time to process it and move on and Lane's party - a jolly and funny moment, I'm sure - will help her a lot in recovering and realize that life goes on.

- First the divorce on 7.14.
- Then the FND in 7.15 where she'll have to drop the news: it'll be a somewhere in btw episode, where Chris is still a issue because she has to annouce the breakup, but the four gilmores (Emily, Richard, Lorelai, Rory) will be reunited as it used to be.
- Finally the back to normal life in 7.16: Lane is part of the town, I'm sure we'll get a baby shower that includes other townies and Sookie so the back to the diner scenes - as part of the back to nornal life process - would suit perferctly

Okee I've repeted the same concept like 1000 times. I feel I start to become boring

Well we have to remember this is fiction so a lot can happen as Nadine said in a short time so having Lorelai break up with Chris, maybe in the evening, then the next morning she goes out for breakfast and ends up at Luke's.

It could happen and damn it I will be right one of these eps!
