I know, I know -- I'm just having a really hard time understanding how this is going to lead to a divorce which will lead to Luke and Lorelai getting back together. And I don't see how Lorelai is the one ending the marraige, when she's practically begging him to come around in this episode.

"Will you be my Lorelai Gilmore", sounds like a play off "Will you be my Valentine", and time wise it will probably fit, despite the audio promo mentioning a day before Valrntine's day (in the audi promo I think they're referring to the episode airdate, not the GG time line).

If she said anything to Luke, it'd just make her situation with Chris worse. That's the last thing she or Luke wanted. Luke didn't want to impose and Lorelai knew Chris was already pissed. She just did what she had to do.

someone give me one reason why we want luke with her agian? I mean one relatively good reason.

Because she wanted to Chris to be there for her. It has nothing to do with her feelings for him.

Because Luke still wants her. That's the only reason I want Lorelai within a mile radius of Luke. If he could find himself a halfway decent alternative, I'd be happy to forget that Lorelai ever existed.

katiegg108! OMG I just was at TWoP and saw a picture of a call sheet for 15 ( I am kayak hear me roar?)

And it had that Lorelai is the kayak apparently said during the drunken evening w/ emily and in the morning Lorelai is worse for wear but Emily is fresh as a daisy!

I now loathe Lorelai almost as much as I do Christopher.

I am so disappointed with tonight's episode. I have a headache. How can Luke and Lorelai get back together the way things are headed. I am saddened by the promo showing Lorelai so sad about the marital breakup. It sort of conflicts with the audio promo IMO. I was so happy and hopeful before.

That promo made me cry. Like, CRY. Wow. Next week is going to be tough to watch, but only because Lorelai is so distraught, and even if it's Chris, I hate seeing her like that

... I don't understand the whole R/L thing though, it almost sounded like he was half proposing... but whatever. Definitely not the story of the moment. The diner wave... getting close!! Maybe she actually does walk inside...

I loved the Babette moments in this episode, helping with the tree, Paul Anka, even telling Luke about Richard. That was awesome, she practically went straight to Luke after she and Lorelai talked about Chris not being around so much lately (interesting conversation in itself, by the way... Looks like Lorelai isn't the only one taking inventory late at night

)

I think KB did a fabulous job tonight... all of her dialogue seemed very Emily, even if it came across as insensitive. She and Lorelai have much in common: When something bad happens, they try to avoid it by filling their time with other things. I'm glad we at least got the touching scene b/t her and Richard after his surgery.

The whole convo in the gift shop b/t Lorelai and Emily was very poignant to me. I could totally see her "epiphany" coming on, even though that was pretty much discarded by the writers after all. Emily's speech about taking care of Richard, being his wife, doing what she was supposed to do, it really started the wheels turning in Lorelai's head about her own position as a wife. I got the impression that those things were not things she could or would be willing to do for Chris. And then her phone call, saying she wasn't sure she knew how to be a wife, but she sure knew that as husband and wife they should be supporting each other... She almost sounded like she was explaining things to herself, too. Like she was doing more convincing of herself in order to not make things out as bad as they really are and suppress her true feelings further in an effort to be the wife she thinks she is supposed to be.

I didn't really catch her delight when Chris showed up- surprise, yes, but delight? Not really. Can't really explain why, but that's what I saw. Maybe it was just the awkwardness of "So, you finally showed up, but you're still mad at me, so now what?" and the fact that Luke was there that she didn't (thank God) give him a hug or kiss or anything...
All in all, the episode was kinda boring, but hey, I'm glad we're finally shipping Chris off next week, even if we couldn't tell as much as we hoped through events that took place tonight.

Hmm...I don't really know what to say.

It felt incomplete to me. Like it just dropped off at the end. I wonder if it will pick up in the hospital next week. As someone specced maybe Lorelai goes to talk to Christopher and he doesn't want to talk and leaves. ?

I hope Lorelai thanks Luke. Although I would have loved for her to tell Chris not to "talk to Luke like that!" - I know that would have been the worst thing to do and I understand why she didn't stop to thank him again in that moment. But I hope she acknowledges it later. And even if she doesn't think that everything he does for her means he still loves/cares about her, I hope that when she gets some perspective she realizes how much his actions have always shown that he's cared - despite what he said/implied in 7.02.

I knew that I was building this one up a lot - so I'm not surprised that I found myself wanting more. However, IMO the fact that we know that C/L is ending NEXT WEEK softens the blow. I think that upon a second viewing more positive things would jump out. Personally, I didn't notice how Lorelai was looking at the bags that Luke brought until I watched the end again.

Random: I *knew* that that one shot of Luke glaring at Christopher that they tried to pass off in the promo as Luke looking at Lorelai wasn't so. I was wondering about that...

About the promo...I'm going to wait until we get the actual quotes in context. But in my mind the "I want to want you" is really an "ouch" moment (for Christopher, not us). Obviously the implied feeling is that she *doesn't* want him and I wonder how hard that is going to hit him. Of course, there is the whole rest of the convo to consider, so...

I don't know. I'm babbling now.

OT but WOW is R/L different in the video promo as compared with the audio promo!

VERY interesting title for 7.17. Thanks for bringing that over! We don't know 7.16 yet, do we? I *wish* it would be about Lorelai/pertaining to Luke's 7.02 comment. (I'm not over it.) But it could also be about Rory, of course. Or - it could be about both of them and not referenced verbatim. Hmm...
