Oh, also.. the LL banter/food cuteness at the end was nice. Once the awkwardness thaws, they always start having normal chats and then it's interupted. I can't wait until they're no longer interupted.

So the 7.17 title.. what do we think?

I look at it this way. Lorelai wants to want Chris. She married him. He's Rory's father. Emily and Richard are completely happy that she and Chris are married. If she wants Chris, she pleases Rory, Emily, Richard. She gives them all the perfect family everyone seems to have wanted for so long. She wants to be in that picture because the picture she created for herself - of a life with Luke - isn't one she thinks she can have anymore. I think we're still supposed to think that Lorelai thinks Luke doesn't love her anymore. So even though she has feelings for Luke, it doesn't really matter because Luke doesn't love her. And if the only problem in her marriage is that she has residual feelings for Luke, if she was also in love with Chris, they could get past it.

The only problem is that she doesn't love Chris and she doesn't want Chris. She wants it because it makes life so much easier. But it will never work because even though she wants to want it, she actually doesn't. This is the first time that I haven't despised Lorelai for quite some time, so this post is quite a breakthrough for me!

i think its probably too soon for anything good LL related with the way things are going, and the other 'Lorelai' option makes me a little nauseous.

God I wish she would go in, but I guess unless it happens as the very end of 14 then it might be 15.

OMG 14 eps at least without Lorelai in the Diner, WFT is DSR doing!

Could the new episode title have anything to do with what Luke said in 7.02.

"You go back to being Lorelai Gilmore and I'll go back to being the guy who pours your coffee"

It seems to be a play on that?

Of course it could just be extremely wishful thinking on my part??

We know the episode is a lot about remembering (Emily, Lorelai and Rory remembering) from the TWOP tour, maybe it has something to do with that.

Also, LG rocks my socks, who went on the tours today found out that Zach asks Luke out to dinner in ep. 17 because they (L/Z) want Luke to be the twins' godfather.

Maybe the title implies that they're asking one of the Lorelai Gilmores to be the godmother?

IMO Lorelai "wants to want" him because she has bolted so many times before and I think she is afraid that she cannot love a man.

I remember when she is standing outside TH and Sookie is asking her if she is going to bolt and tells her she has set presidence for it before. I think she wants to want Christopher because if she doesn't (and she doesn't) then she is incapable of love.

I liked the cliches from Emily at the the "every cloud has a silver lining" could be foreshadowing of her break up and the "blood is thicker than water" could be about the drunken discussion she and Lorelai have over the scotch, when Christopher hurt her by knocking up Sherri and then showed up at FND Emily was the one who ended the screaming match between C/L and sent Christopher home after she heard L tell C how much it talking to him about his life w/Sherri.

Not sure about this episode, was hoping for more, but if it gets Christopher out by 15 I am good w/it.

Go St. Luke (The feast of St. Luke is October 18, not quite Scorpio, yes?)

Ugh. Such an emotionless episode. I agree with everyone who has said there was so much more emotion in F&S -but, I have to let it go - that was ASP in the early days and she was genius at that.

I wanted her her to be royally pissed at Chris in the preview, but here she is crying about how he's the man she wants to want - what the hell for? Pathetic.

Chris showing up the way he did and the family treating him like he's not been missing all day - and he has the nerve to tell Luke he should go? Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.

I didn't feel a thing while watching this. I remember clearly in F&S - watching Lorelai battle her fear of facing her father being so sick and Luke saying he would be there when she came out of the room - I looked so forward to this episode, but we have Lorelai again acting like a milktoast when Chris showed up - and him with his holier than thou attitude and them saying Oh you would you like to see Richard?

These writers don't have a clue about how to write these characters - not a clue.

did anyone else notice the comment Rory makes about buying that album for Richard for his 60th birthday? it kinda felt like DR was trying to be all "hah! i did watch the previous seasons, see?"
