And I so want Dopey to make a scene in the hospital. So that not only Lorelai, but also Rory AND Emily see for themselves what an a$$ he really is.......but I doubt we´ll get this.....

Maybe we will. I mean Emily and Rory have to jump off that train as well so it could be a good start into that direction. Especially Emily has to see what an idiot Chris is and how wrong it is to just stick to that jerk because he's good breeding and money. Emily knows how Chris is and has pointed that out numerous times but she still roots for him because of his social status. That damn woman has to learn that it doesn't matter and that it's not right for her daughter.

There was over 600 school closings in my area today. Of course I still have classes though. The college students are the ones who have to walk to their classes in the bitter cold.

I really hope so Cappu, but then why would Lorelai be so hesitant to tell Emily in 7.15 that her marriage is over ???

Lorelai will probably still be hesitant to tell Emily because, as we know, nothing Lorelai ever does pleases Emily - except, apparently, marrying an idiot. But, if Emily has noted that Chris is a loser who failed to show up to support her daughter and granddaughter and finally sees Luke for the man he is, Lorelai may not yet know that Emily had her own epiphany. If Emily, does, in fact, have one.

The question for me comes down to whether or not Lorelai is honest with her mother about where Chris is and why he is missing from the hospital. If she simply tells her he is out of town or something, then Emily is not gonna get why Lorelai is dumping his tush.

I'm really hoping Lorelai chooses to go the honest route here and tell both Emily and Rory that she and Chris had a fight and she hasn't been able to reach him. That she left him messages but hasn't heard from him. She doesn't have to tell them what the fight was about - that is between her and Chris, but I really don't want her to cover for him - again.

Ya know, if I was Lorelai and I couldn't get ahold of Christopher and he wasn't trying to contact me, my ability to trust him would be going way down hill. How does she know he's not out getting even and sleeping all around town or something? Even if he did show up, I'd be glaring him down and still wouldn't want to talk to him.

Because she has to admit that she has failed again. She has disappointed Emily again and put the family into a bad light again. I don't know. It's still hard for her to talk to Emily about things like that but maybe after sharing a bottle of Scotch both will see the other's point. Everyone would after a bottle of Scotch

that's why i don't understand why she's the one avoiding him in the next ep description, he's screwed up worse at that point, she's essentially got the high ground for any arguement they've got. I don't like this new afraidofconfrontation!Lorelai.

Is she actually avoiding him though? I thought she was just occupying her mind so she didn't have to think of the problems they're having. Christopher is the one who disappears for days. There isn't much she can do if he's not around, so instead of sitting around fretting over her marriage falling part, she's trying to keep her brain busy.

for some reason I thought the descriptions said she avoided going home, but you're right it just says 'to avoid dealing with the problems'. So uh, ignore previous post?

Yeah.. I would feel the same. And she is worrying about her dad and not her failed marriage so it makes sense that she only does so much to try and get hold of him. He is off on his hissy fit and wont answer... she tries and no luck.

He is an ass and always has been!

Like Mots just said, I don't think that Lorelai's avoiding Chris in ep. 14, she's just avoiding the issues. Like maybe she's pretending that nothings wrong and that her marriage isn't crumbling and falling apart, therefore is not trying to reach christopher.

I really hope this woman learns at long last that she needs to really talk to people and stop telling them what they want to hear - she did that with Luke last year, and now with Chris - she was lying through her teeth in that fight last week when she said she didn't know why she didn't tell him about the letter.

We heard her tell Rory the week before that she wasn't telling Chris about it because she didn't want to upset him - and, now a week later, she tells him she doesn't know why she hid it?

I'm glad she doesn't wait long to tell Emily - even if it does involve scotch....and i hope it doesn't take her long to tell Luke how she feels about him once she figures it out.

She's gotta learn sometime (hopefully) that her keeping silent about her feelings isn't paying off and she and others are getting hurt. She's gotta try a new strategy - the truth, as much as it may hurt to initially to say it, it is going to be less painful in the long run.

Any chance at all this is something she might have learned on this stupid "journey?" No? Thought so.
