Thread Rules
  • This thread is to discuss spoilers of the show, which includes analysis and speculation of what might happen on the show, or what people would like to see happen regarding Luke and Lorelai. The thread should not be used as episode discussion thread. That should be done on the Gilmore Girls board.
  • Be respectful. Not everyone is going to agree with you at all times. It's perfectly fine to disagree with someone as long as it is done respectfully, but do not attack other posters.
  • Don't tease! If you have spoilers that you aren't able or willing to share just yet, it's inappropriate to come on the forum and tell everyone that.
  • Please note that asking and/or begging for more spoilers isn't necessary. Our sources give what they can, whenever it is possible, and when the time is right. Asking over and over again won't make them come any quicker, or any more detailed.

Feel free to discuss everything about Luke & Lorelai. Have fun posting!

Thanks for the new thread

@elduccia - have fun watching Studio 60

So how is the verdict on Chris and what he does in the hospital ?

Does he make a scene or does he just leave ?

I'm sitting between chairs but I think I would like to see him starting a fight in front of everybody

My verdict is: as much as I know how most fans would enjoy Chris to loose all his dignity in front of his family, I think he has stolen enough screen time.

As much as I've liked the guy, I'm fed up with this CL thing. I don't think we need more evidence that Chris is uncapable of being there for his family and that he doesn't get Lorelai - he get her jokes, but that's it.

So I am all for the: Chris gets there, he looks at the scene - whatever it is that upset him - he exchange significant looks with Lorelai and then leaves.

And now Studio 60 time!

It's too cold for school, seriously. Every school (colleges, too) in my area have cancelled classes.

I still don't know which I'd prefer, him causing a scene or just sulking away. I almost feel like Lorelai has to know that he showed up, but then bailed on her again because he couldn't handle seeing Luke.

But that's boring No I kind of see that happening as well. They just exchange looks and then he leaves. That says a lot and I think we'll get enough drama with Richard being in surgery, Lorelai fighting with Emily because she is in denial mode, Luke being there which should bring all kinds of feelings up in Lorelai. But Chris who acts like a 5 yo again would be a bonus I just can't help it I want him to make a scene

Oh, I so want him to make one of his whiny, hissing, growling scenes at the hospital - it doesn't have to be a long scene, but I want it....I'm afraid, though, they will not give us that drama and may have him just leave -

How bad can they make this guy look that regardless of how he feels about Lorelai and their marriage, he decides to not stay for his daughter. Rory doesn't deserve to be treated like this by him - again. What? The poor girl can't have both her good friend (Luke) there and her own father? He can't get over himself enough to get past his own pettiness re: Luke? She can't have room in her life in a moment of crisis for both?

Gad - he's not 16 anymore. By now, the guy should realize that life is complicated and sometimes you have to do things that make you uncomfortable simply because it's the right thing to do. Deserting his daughter is not forgiveable. Not now. Not at nearly 40 years old.

I have a random vision of Chris walking out, going and standing next to Luke's car and then trying to sucker punch him when he goes to leave. And Lorelai witnesses it all because she walks out with Luke to say bye and thank you for everything etc.

Not going to happen, but it'd be nice.

Thanks for the new thread Mots.

My friend photocopied this and gave it to me this morning when I arrived at work. I’m not sure if anything is new to you. If it's not, I apologize for the repetition.

Gilmore Girls Retools For 2007

Like its tempestuous mother/daughter relationship, Gilmore Girls is looking to patch things up with fans.

“The first half of the season was a little rocky,” admitted Dawn Ostroff, president of Entertainment at The CW, to the Television Critics Association. “The second half of the season [which started Jan. 23] is much stronger. Viewers will be pleasantly surprised.”

Ostroff conceded the show suffered growing pains. “Gilmore Girls has been on the air for six or seven years,” she noted. “Any show that’s on for that period of time, creatively has its up and its downs.

“Clearly, with the loss of (creator) Amy Sherman-Palladino, we wanted to be able to maintain the quality of the show,” Ostroff noted. “David Rosenthal was one of her top lieutenants and actually hand-picked by Amy. He was sort of painted into a storyline by the end of last year – which he kind of got out of.

Is Ostroff confident enough to give the series another season? “I don’t think we’re ready to deal with that yet, because we’re four months into the sason,” she said. “It’s premature.” Stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel (Lorelai and Rory) would have to sign new contracts, and both of them have burgeoning film careers. “We are talking to them,” Ostroff said.

If this is the final season, the show will be given enough notice to wrap up all the storylines. “We would like to [do that], when the time comes,” she concluded.

Gilmore Girls airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. on The CW.

So far it doesn't really look as if they can wrap up the storyline. Those things convince me more and more that they already know they are going to do another season. They dragged the CL experiment out and there is hardly enough time to wrap things up for Luke and Lorelai. Rosie said the end of this season could make a good ending for this entire show. Well LL just being friends or on their way to being back together is not really a good ending in my books and I bet it isn't either for Lauren, Scott and everybody else.

Oh, gosh, I really don't want anymore physical battles between Chris/Luke. The last fight was so stupid and pointless to me - and, I'm betting Chris never bothered to tell Lorelai about that stellar moment in which he started a fight with Luke. Mr. Honesty. Hah.

It will be interesting to see how ratings are or are not affected by the change in storyline. My sister and a friend of mine decided to tune back in last week after not watching all season because of the pending doom of C/L. I wonder if others will as well. Probably not enough to beef up the ratings significantly - but, I sure hope so. There's been enough in the written press blurbs about the story - so maybe....

Thanks for the thread Mots.

Um, what is the point of wind chill? Why don't they just say that it's -25, not that it feels like -25, because if it feels like it, what's the difference?
