Mm hmm. Christopher always knew he was 2nd. He was just trying to ignore it. That's probably why he wanted to move out of Stars Hollow. It's why he's trying to change everything. He doesn't like the reminders of Luke all around. He has to know that he is always being compared.

Poor Lorelai. I hate that there is so much hurt that goes along with this storyline. It didn't have to be this way.

Well, well, well ,well ,well little dopey knew he was just her second choice and went along with that and even better initiated it even. What an ass. Honestly. He knew it and still asked her to marry him? Dragged his little kid into that mess ? Got Rory's hopes up again in a way ? Got Lorelai into that position she is in now. Yes she went along with that but what a jerk to yeah trick her into that.

Thanks squidsmum. That explains why Chris was in such a rush to move things along, with the wedding in France, and moving house, and kids, and make changes to Lorelai's life and traditions. Trying to wash that diner man right out of her hair.

IA. And Lorelai did warn him as much (I think it was the Knitathon) when she told him, "they're (the town) was not who they expected."

I think she hasn't reached her realization yet. She's still trying to make this marriage work and still thinks she can.

I wonder what else will be said to make her come to her full realization.

Obviously (to me anyway), she's still wanting things to work out with Chris in 713, otherwise she wouldn't keep trying to reach him). But I wonder what he says when he witnesses the hospital scene.

Will he back her into a corner (like Digger did) and force her to break up with him?

ETA: Capp, I don't think it was trickery. I think it was being overly optimistic / wishful thinking on Chris's part to go through with all of this. What a dope!

Yeah, the ILYs sound desperate and not from a woman in love, but still.....NO MORE ILYS !!!! 6 years those words were a big deal, but after Lorelai told Dopey 923742947 times ILY, they have NO meaning anymore.....

I love how when voiceover dude goes, 'It's hard to go forward, when you keep looking back' they show a clip of LL in 21ITLN.

The good old days of LL.

I actually liked the extended promo. Good stuff, imo. But it's looking more and more like Chris is the first to walk out on this relationship.

Loreali “ Luke has been like a father to Rory, He’s been the one person I can count on, once he’s in your life , he’s in your life forever. (Flashbacks happening while Lorelai is writing letter)

Promo guy “It’s hard to move forward”

Chris “ I read your letter I know your not done with him.”
Lorelai “ what I had with him its over”

Promo guy, “When you keep looking back”

Chris “Your still in love with him”
Lorelai “ I love you I love you (desperately clings to him)
Chris “ I can’t handle being your second choice I though I could but I can’t” (walks away)
Lorelai “Christopher”

Sigh... Knowing all this and he couldn't be a friend to Lorelai and watch her back alittle while longer? He had to jump in bed with her

what the hell kind of love is that? I think that is the most selfish thing to do to someone.

We know thats not the case...so IMO he must say some things in the hospital that will lead Lorelai to end this silly marriage.....

And who´s more pathetic ??? Lorelai, for marrying someone she doesn´t love, or Dopey for marrying someone when he knew all along that he was her second choice......

Perhaps he walks out mad, but later wants to try and work it out. He finally answers his phone and shows up at the hospital. Whatever happens next pushes Lorelai to end it.

I thought that Luke wasn't the reason Lorelai ended the relationship. I realize he wasn't the reason in that Lorelai thinks they could get back together. But her love for Luke does seem to be a big factor in the breakup.

ETA: Well, well, well. It looks like we have our explanation for all of the I love you's. Lorelai always seemed too convincing to me before. I'm glad to see it finally make some kind of sense how she could go so quickly from loving Luke to Chris.

Yeah, Fuzzy, I'm thinking that when he shows up at the hospital, he's ready to make up or something. Maybe her calling him and needing him makes him think that he might be able to deal with being her second choice. But then something at the hospital makes her end it once and for all.
