Episode 7.12: To Whom It May Concern

GOOD NEWS/BAD NEWS — Noticing Sookie’s (Melissa McCarthy) recent odd behavior, Lorelai (Lauren Graham) forces Jackson (Jackson Douglas) to tell her the reason. Luke (Scott Patterson) and Anna (Sherilyn Fenn) attend a hearing to decide their custody battle over April (Vanessa Marano). With help from Paris (Liza Weil), Rory (Alexis Bledel) finally makes amends with Lucy (Krysten Ritter), who tells her that she and Marty (Wayne Wilcox) have broken up. While attending Richard’s (Edward Herrmann) economics class at Yale, Rory witnesses a frightening scene. Finally, Christopher (David Sutcliffe) finds the letter Lorelai wrote for Luke’s character reference and confronts Lorelai about whether he was her second choice. Jamie Babbit directed the episode written by David Babcock

TV Guide: Rory returns to Yale after winter break and leaves Lucy a note apologizing for her deception, while Paris ambushes Rory with her master plan of things they need to accomplish in their last semester. Meanwhile, Luke and Anna appear before a judge in the custody case; Sookie asks Lorelai to babysit so she and Jackson can go skiing, but Sookie's behavior is mysteriously erratic; and Christopher makes a discovery that leaves him shaken. RICHARD IS HOSPITALIZED — In the hospital waiting room, Lorelai (Lauren Graham), Rory (Alexis Bledel) and Emily (Kelly Bishop) anxiously await word on Richard’s (Edward Herrmann) condition. When Logan (Matt Czuchry) hears what is happening, he borrows a helicopter to be by Rory’s side, but Lorelai is unable to reach Christopher (David Sutcliffe), who is still angry over their fight the night before. Upset by Emily’s attempt to remain calm by dealing with her social calendar, Lorelai is relieved when Luke (Scott Patterson) shows up unannounced and volunteers to run errands for Emily. Christopher finally arrives to be with Lorelai, but the scene at the hospital is more than he can take. Lee Shallat Chemel directed the episode, written by Rebecca Rand Kirshner

TV Guide:While Lorelai, Rory and Emily wait at the hospital for news of Richard's condition, Logan borrows a helicopter so that he can be there with Rory, and Luke arrives to help out and ends up running errands for Emily. Meanwhile, Lorelai cannot reach Christopher, to whom she hasn't talked since he stormed out of the house.

I think she's totally going to start realizing things before ep. 13. She was obviously realizing things last night about Luke and about the happy family in the CS kitchen not being the right family. Maybe next week she will realize that she still feels something for Luke, and that Chris is her second choice (duh). Then ep. 13 probably just brings all those things together and she realizes that she just can't be with Chris and that she has to end things.

The realization was set in motion during last night's episode. I mean she had Luke on her mind 24/7

And at the end when she was standing by the staircase and just listened to Rory, Chris and Gigi she so knew it was the wrong family sitting in the kitchen. When she dropped the letter of and had to go home to them she knew she was going home to the wrong family.

The thing with Rory being angry at Lorelai. Don't forget Chris doesn't show up when his family needs him the most. That is going to hit her as well as Lorelai. If she confronts him with it and his only excuse is his jealousy over Luke and the letter, I don't think she will be happy about it. Plus Luke once again is there for them even though he doesn't have to. She already said he never missed one of her birthdays or Christmas and he always had a gift for her. So she will as well compare them. I mean her own dad doesn't show up and is not there for her or her mom but Luke is.

But I fear that we won´t hear an honest answer......her hesitation will be answer enough for Dopey......did you notice how his voice got angrier ???

Thanks for the thread, Mots. Oh and for the EW review.

So am I the only one who thinks that what DR says he wants for the end of S7 is a little too much and a little too late? I mean, if he thought about ending the season/series this way, why rush this ending? Why didn't he take the time and have it progress through out the season better than it has? If this is truly what his plans are...I'm not so sure he can pull it off convincingly enough. Plus it seems like Lorelai's alone time will be cut short. And in my opinion, I'd rather see her alone getting to know the real Lorelai Gilmore and taking the time to rebuild her friendship with Luke then have them rush back in to something romantic...but I know that's just me, lol
Anyways, just seems like a lot to accomplish in such a short time.

You should all go to the CW web site. The promo is up and it is longer. Lorelai answer is there and she tells him she loves him in a desperate manner by flunging herself at him.
