You know what I love the most about him? How he has gracefully managed to forgive Lorelai (not that there aren't things she has to forgive him for, just saying) and he's able to accept that she's "moved on" without holding any sort of grudge against her. Not silly. Of course, I'm a crazy Luke lover. This episode just makes me so happy because it's such a great Luke episode. *sigh*

Interesting analysis by Robin from TVGuide:

"Did you notice that April let Luke keep her microscope while Lorelai chose a telescope for Christopher? Can’t help but wonder if it meant Luke’s looking closely at the details of his life while Chris’s head is in the stars."

I'm sure it's nothing significant - but interesting none the less.

Loved the ep! I may be wrong, since no one else has mentioned it, but was that the Twickham house across the street from the mailbox? I thought Lorelai mailed the letter as the snow started falling, and then she walked toward the Twickham House. Yay for the symbolism, even if it wasn't TH!

The promo for next week made me all kinds of happy, but I suspect the "Do you love him" scene doesn't really cut to Lorelai hanging her head and refusing to answer. We wouldn't get that lucky this soon, I think.

We know that Chris storms out now so whatever Lorelai says or does makes him angry. Maybe the promo isn't misleading and she does just hang her head.

I just read Robin's review... How come her review after the best LL ep so far has to be the only one I've disagreed with? Things are funny that way.

The letter voiceover in the promo still has be all happy dancing. Is it tuesday yet? Well, I know it's tuesday... But is it next tuesday yet?

We have to get that lucky. However she responds, it sends Chris out the door and causes him to throw a pity party for himself. So she can't obviously end up denying that she loves Luke.

And yes, that was the TH at the end of the ep.

she's also wearing different clothes there than in the hospital, so i wonder how long he's actually gone for before she gets the call about Richard.

I think the promo is inevitably going to be somewhat misleading. I don't think the scene is going to play out in the order it is in the promo. We have Lorelai vehemently stating that things are over with Luke and then after the Chris question about whether she loves Luke she's just standing there basically motionless with all the fight knocked out of her. If you check out the part where she is hanging her head, it looks like Chris is still talking, so I doubt that's really her reaction to the question about loving Luke. It makes more sense if that's her initial reaction when Chris says that he's read the letter - Lorelai hangs her head and then Chris starts in on his questions regarding Luke. As for her reaction to his question about loving Luke, I suspect she's just going to stand there and stare at him.

But I do think that whatever her response to that question, Chris isn't going to be happy with it - either because she doesn't answer or because he doesn't believe the answer. It can't be very convincing or reassuring since he storms off and isn't heard from again until a day later.

L/L-Wise - 9 (LG delivered TENFOLD, I'm not used to SP's delivery of his lines)

Anti-C/L Wise: 5 (They fought in the first scene about who made the joke first...Chris is trying new traditions, Lorelai's hiding the Luke thing, C/L/R/G still celebrating X Mas though Lorelai walks out to mail the letter WHILE the 'family' is celebrating.

Rory-Wise: 7.0 (She had great lines IMO, great acting by AB, but she had no storyline other than being second fiddle to Lorelai)

General: I'd give it a nice 8.0 or 8.5

And YES Christopher (Crassface), she IS STILL IN LOVE WITH HIM!

Ciaobella gelato report: I had the strawberry and it was delicious. Darn tour center makes you buy 2 scoops, so I had one of the mango sorbet as well. OK, now strawberry gelato and mango sorbet don't exactly go together, but both were really good. Anyone going on the WB tour, be sure to try some!
