About Lane, Luke and the hospital...tonight is when they are supposed to be singing "I want to be sedated," and ever since we received that news, I always thought that was because Lane was going into labor...or really close to it. So, while I would like to Luke to come to the rushing to the rescue (because I have no doubt that he would), I think it will be more of a coincidence, having something to do with Lane and the baby...also explaining Mrs. Kim in the episode next week.

Also, what if Lorelai runs into Luke while she is going to mail the letter? Or maybe he watches her go in to the post office...I don't know, maybe I am just hoping for another LL moment tonight!

Can't wait! Just over 6 hours!

Good points about the song, so maybe Lanes baby is tonight to off set the C&L stuff, we'll find out in a few hours

I think the reason I've always loathed Chris' character on this show (besides the deadbeat dad thing), is the way he diminishes Lorelai just be being around her. All he has to do is show up and suddenly she becomes this giggly horny teenager wannabe- any common sense or maturity she's managed to develop just leaks out of her ears and her worst flaws - her tendency towards selfishness and, dare I say, obnoxiousness (especially to Emily and Richard) and her insecurities - rise to the surface and just take over. And it's always been this way. However she does it, Lorelai really needs to get this guy completely out of her system. Forever.

Sorry, but I resent that because my hatred of Christopher has nothing to do with being a JJ. It predates my interest in LL getting together. If anything, watching Christopher's selfishness and how he doesn't care, doesn't even bother to notice who he hurts in pursuit of his own happiness - that could have led me to invest in LL. Except that I didn't need that, because Luke and Lorelai had their own story.

He deserves much, much, much more than that.

All that would do is - oh, perhaps, begin to pay for Partings. It wouldn't pay for the rest of what he's done to Lorelai. And it wouldn't make a dent in the suffering he's caused Rory.

Rory doesn't talk about it much, but we saw at the beginning of season 3, that she did suffer, she wasn't immune. "You promised." Never mind, "I have mom and that's all I need".

Does anyone really believe she just turned to Mom and didn't care any more? About as much as I believe Luke "was over it" in 7-02.

Two LL scenes, a secret that could be the letter or something else or we get more than one secret. I mean it's stuff and stuff is usually more than just one piece.

There fact that Chris doesn't even bother to get over himself enough to go to the hospital for his own daughter is really appalling - I get that he's pissed at Lorelai and even though his not being there for her is bad enough, him not being there for Rory is really disgusting - to me. Rory loves Richard and if he knew his own daughter at all, he would know she would be frightened.

So - yeah, whatever happens to Chris, I'm all for it.

ETA: As to secret stuff - I still think the Luke/Chris fight has not been revealed to anyone - could that be part of the "stuff" in secret stuff?

I always felt sad when I saw the way Rory threw herself into her Dad's arms in S1. It's like she had to cling to him because she knew he would only be there for a brief moment.

ASP didn't dwell on that aspect of the story, but I do think she made it clear that Chris was a self-centered loser. In that "flashback" episode, the Chris character was such a dud that it was abundantly clear why Lorelai would not marry him then.

I can't stand him.

Caf, seriously, I don't want to start an agruement here too. Is there no sanctuary on FF? You know I hate this SL and CL together, and that I want LL back so bad. Can't we ever just agree to disagree on this one aspect of things?

Our opionions are both based on personal things that we've witnessed and gone through, and I know you have your reasons to hate him, as do I have reasons to actually feel for Chris. But I don't wish to share my life story here that would be needed to fully explain those reasons.

I feel that Chris absolutely needs to be called out on so many things. He needs to fully grasp just how much he sucked as a father and how much crap he pulled and how those things affected Lorelai and Rory.

This thread is mainly us JJs, and most of the people here hate Chris. I don't see how what I said should be taken as a negative thing. That doesn't mean that hating Chris has to go hand in hand with wanting LL together, and I didn't mean to offend you. I was just saying how my opinion on Chris differs from the strong hatred of him that most LL fans have.
